Conflict of interest?
[edit]Hallo and Welcome to Wikipedia. I notice that all your editing seems to be in connection with Sarah Ejiama or her MRes supervisor Makoto Furutani-Seiki, both of whose articles you have created. Please be aware that Wikipedia strongly discorages editing about "yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships". (See WP:COI). Do you have any such connection with Ejiama or Furutani-Seiki? Please tell us. Thanks. PamD 15:34, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- @PamD Not At All :) I published the article Makoto Furutani-Seiki and Sarah Ejiama was one of his notable students. I am also in the process of completing other new articles on subjects from the scientific background too. I am very aware of the WP:COI policy and wouldn't want anything to jeopardise my editorial status. I will declare if there's any but as this is concerned, there's not conflict of interest at all. Kind Regards Oceanview1590 (talk) 15:45, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- OK, Thanks for letting us know. PamD 15:48, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Kj cheetham (talk) 19:37, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Kj Cheetham, sorry I couldn't revert to you before forwarding to the AFD discussion. I got few articles but the subject was still a co-author _https://abstracts.ncri.org.uk/abstract/pan-raf-inhibitor-active-in-melanomas-that-are-resistant-to-braf-or-braf-mek-inhibitor-combinations-4/
- I am sure like you mentioned this doesn't count for notability from WP:Academics perspective still and couple with other papers. However, its wise to mention that during my further research into the subject and some of her colleagues, one of them from same team got an award and also she's not had a personal book published by herself alone as most of her work was with the subject and others.
- I am more than happy for you to take the page down if from all I have discussed with you so far doesn't justify the notability as regards the academics. It's a learning curve for me and I have learnt a lot this few days from people like yourself and others. I will keep researching and creating pages as part of my contribution to Wikipedia.
- From all ramifications, I don't think with the co-author publications she's got what would amount to a reasonable justification to allow the page to exist.
- Appreciate your time :) Oceanview1590 (talk) 11:54, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
Some baklava for you!
[edit]A second welcome. Getting started here can be daunting. I hope not too daunting for you. Please stick around and keep creating articles. CT55555 (talk) 12:14, 20 July 2022 (UTC) |
- Thanks appreciate the heads up :) Oceanview1590 (talk) 12:20, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
Vusi Thembekwayo moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Vusi Thembekwayo, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Am working on this article in a sandbox not meant to be published yet, thanks (talk) 10:32, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, the article Vusi Thembekwayo is finally completed and it's live. You can review and make any suggestions. Thank you! Oceanview1590 (talk) 08:09, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
- Cordless Larry I hope you're doing well. Now that the article has been completed and properly sourced in the live space, would it be appropriate to remove this draft version? I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thank you. Oceanview1590 (talk) 12:23, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, you can just tag it for deletion under WP:G7. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:04, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for June 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Makoto Furutani-Seiki, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Organ. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Vusi Thembekwayo
[edit]Hi @Oceanview1590: How goes it? I came across a couple of your articles. This is the second one with excessive references that violate WP:CITEKILL. Generally speaking, it is one reference per sentence, unless its is very long sentence with multiple events or concepts for example, that need independently verified. Also WP:BLP's need WP:SECONDARY sources to verify the content, not WP:PRIMARY sources. I had to remove a whole block of stuff from that article which was badly sourced. Philanthropy sections are not-RS. They not used on Wikipedia anymore as they a crock and really just a case of virtue signalling with no depth. Don't use them. I think if I didn't see the news article talking about subject getting a divorce, showing that there is real interest in the subject by the community, i.e. secondary, I would have posted it to the WP:AFD queue. It such a mess. But it is better now. It does take a bit of time to learn to write a good article. scope_creepTalk 13:41, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
- Scope creep Thank you for tidying up the article. Your points are taken from above and I am glad the article is now in better shape than it was when I published it. I made a couple of tweaks since it was published as an administrator advised on what to tweak on it. Appreciate your steer!
- From your experience, do you think it reads better now to remove the tag on it? Thanks Oceanview1590 (talk) 14:02, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Paid editing inquiry
[edit]Can you please explain your process for how you go about choosing the articles you edit/create? Your contributions to date match patterns that we typically see from editors engaging in WP:UPE signed, Rosguill talk 16:25, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- To address your concerns:
- WP: UPE: Wikipedia's "Undisclosed Paid Editing" (WP: UPE) policy pertains to editors who are compensated to edit articles without disclosing their affiliation.
- This doesn't apply to me. I am fully aware of this policy and I take very seriously undue allegations of such. I won't discredit my integrity to be involved in such an act and it shouldn’t be something someone of my calibre or any editor here should be involved in. If you noticed and have reviewed my previous articles, I take time to research and write and I am not one of those editors that rush to publish articles just for the sake of it. My subject lines are similar and I don’t have any incline to who these subjects are.
- Also, I find it interesting that you alleged this considering my aim is to be as neutral and factual as possible, drawing from the extensive information within my research data on a subject. However, any output I provide should always be double-checked for accuracy and neutrality, especially if it's being considered for a platform like Wikipedia.
- If there are patterns that seem to mimic certain behaviours, it's likely coincidental or based on the nature of the articles I am editing or creating. I encourage Wikipedia editors and administrators to exercise caution and ensure that content meets Wikipedia's guidelines and standards. Oceanview1590 (talk) 19:17, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
