Hi Ochena bikel! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia.
Be our guest at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a friendly space where new editors can ask questions about contributing to Wikipedia and get help from peers and experienced editors. I hope to see you there! Theopolisme (I'm a Teahouse host)

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Hair serum, because to me it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks, Jim1138 (talk) 08:39, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ochena bikel. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.--Charles (talk) 08:39, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Sebaceous gland, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Charles (talk) 08:49, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Despite having been informed three years ago that the editing you were doing was unacceptable, you have continued to edit with the sole purpose of adding spam links to Wikipedia. You were told that doing so would be likely to lead to being blocked, but unfortunately until now your continuing spamming was not drawn to the attention of administrators, so you were able to get away with it. Now, however, an editor has reported your editing to an administrators' notice board, so you have been blocked indefinitely from editing. I have also checked the links you added, and it seems that almost all of them had already been removed. I have now removed the few remaining spam links. If necessary, the web sites to which you have linked can be added to the spam blacklist, which will mean that the Wikimedia software will prevent anyone from ever adding links to those sites on any Wikipedia page. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
