[edit]Debno is in former Brandenburg, but close to Pomerania. The authorities shifted the administrative borders around so you won't find the historical regions on the map (in East Germany, they did the same). You are right about the soil, Brandenburgian soil is famous for its bad quality and in Germany commonly known as "Streusandbüchse", which is an idiom you can roughly translate as "a tin filled with very fine sand". Maybe you find a proper Polish translation on the web. But I heard rumors that you can actually grow something on that soil anyway besides pine trees and heath. - It was a technical mistake I wanted to copy the whole name but, by accident, I deleted it so I've put back the name that was next to it (I thought it was the right one). You can easily trace that looking at my later edtitions on that page. You schould also talk to that guy: 71.137.198.58, not to manipulate the data (he says none and there is 92 and 56!!!). [edit]From the title, your book is a compendium of Pomeranian knights (14th to 19th cts). The "Landesdirektor" was a chief bureaucrat of the provincial administrative apparatus in Prussian times. By then, "knight" was just a title, the knights were usually farmers. Regards Skäpperöd (talk) 09:56, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland is now dividing our members into active, semi-active (have not edited a Poland-related article in more then three months or have 10 or less edits per month on average) and inactive (have not edited at all for three months or more). You occasionally edit Poland-related articles but have few edits in the past months; we are moving you to semi-active members category. Please consider participating in our project activities again in the future, we would love to work more closely with you again! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 19:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Re Emigration from PL
[edit]Thank you for inviting me, but before you start I need to inform you about some technical problems with the article you might not be aware of. The article is in trouble ever since its existence. A merge was (is?) proposed, a deletion was (is?) proposed, and the most recent discussion is at Talk:Expulsion of Germans after World War II#Somebody please put a stop to this insanity.... I agree with user:Llewelyn MT that the article somehow does not properly fit into the hierarchy, and proposed the topic be covered in German minority in Poland. I agree with both Llewelyn MT and you that the article as it is now is in bad shape.
So before you (we) put any effort in improving it, I think we should start a thread at the article's talk page, invite Llewelyn MT and see who else has a look, and determine if this article should be kept or where else the information should go. Sound good? Skäpperöd (talk) 15:39, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
(PS: I saw you just moved but misspelled World War) Skäpperöd (talk) 15:39, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Question
[edit]You wrote: and replace them with those written by H. Weczerka. To the record - he is not known outside Germany actually and does not use the newest sources created after Silesia returned to Poland in 1945.
Do you know more about this person? His books are often at odds with official history of Polish cities, and used on Wiki, can you tell me more about him, give some sources? --MyMoloboaccount (talk) 15:01, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Poland Newsletter • April 2011
For our freedom and yours Welcome to our first issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools! With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself? You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a [member link] at WikiProject Poland. • Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC) |

Disambiguation link notification for August 21
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited History of Silesia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anna of Austria (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :) You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a member at WikiProject Poland. |
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
