Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as Diseptomina Virus, is not in accordance with our policies. South western

[edit]

Hi. I note that you changed south western to southwestern in Battle of Auberoche. As a general point I would note that articles which have recently become featured articles, less than five weeks ago in this case, rarely have significant flaws. As a more specific point, this - two words, no hyphen - is the standard British English version and is common elsewhere. I offer in evidence: South Western Railway; South Western School District; South Western Highway; South Western Railway zone. These are each from a different continent - to establish common usage, including one from the US. Unless an article is specifically tagged as being in US English, you are changing the spelling to an incorrect version with this and similar changes. Even if it is in US English, south western etc may still be correct. Gog the Mild (talk) 23:25, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, Apologies

[edit]

Ah, apologies for this. I will refrain from using hyphenated and conjoined versions of directions. Thank you for pointing this out. :)

No problem. I still occasionally fall for thinking that an acceptable variant is a mistake. And more often mix them up. If you like to do occasional copy editing, you should consider joining GOCE. I will put an invite below. Gog the Mild (talk) 23:37, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An invitation

[edit]

Thank you! I am very pleased to have been asked to join a group which centers on what I mainly enjoy editing on Wikipedia. Thanks again for this invite and I hope to help out a lot more in future. ZigZagoon99 (talk) 02:32, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
