Welcome!

I've added Quailtard to WP:BJAODN and included mention in Dick Cheney hunting incident. The whole keep/delete antagonism of WP:AFD drives me crazy, as it hurts the consensus editing necessary to Wikipedia. --User At Work 20:39, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Lips-shoot11.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lips-shoot11.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:22542.rememberthenightparties.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Common

[edit]

I would say that when two "common names" are almost equally represented, or can't be significantly told aprt, then by definition there is no, one, "Common name", so the policy I quoted would apply. Xandar 01:30, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits. Per Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. The rule of thumb is that only vandalism/test reversions or edits consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modifying content should be flagged as "minor". Thank you. BMRR (talk) 20:10, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
