@CFA Yes thanks. To learn editing I created an example draft. How much does it take to get reviewed? Parma Calcio 2023 (talk) 21:04, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In this case it's a test draft — not something that's meant to be an actual article — so I will decline it. Feel free to test in your personal sandbox where no one will disturb you (or even realize it exists). C F A 💬 21:07, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@CFA Your user page is great. How did you put all those rectangular boxes and stuff with information? Parma Calcio 2023 (talk) 21:14, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They're called userboxes. You can find an extensive list of them here. If you want to add one to your user page, just copy and paste the code (e.g. copying {{User Wikipedia}} produces:

Welcome to Wikipedia editing

[edit]

Hello Parma Calcio 2023, I saw your post on the Teahouse, and it appears that you are seeking to gain more editing experience, so I thought I'd give you a couple of suggestions. I try to do my best to improve Wikipedia articles, but I only feel inspired to put a lot of time and effort into articles that I'm interested in, so I look for subjects that appeal to me. (I also steer away from the "big" articles, about current popular celebrities or major political candidates that everyone has an opinion on.) One of my rather "niche" interests is classic children's magazines. I've invested in some good reference books, that I enjoy studying, plus I've hunted up reliable online sources for what interests me. I've also put links on my personal user page for Wikipedia helps such as Help:Your first article and Help:Referencing for beginners so I can double check on the right way to do things.

When I've nothing else to do, I check to see if there is an article on something I'm interested in, such as the children's magazine The Little Pilgrim. I discovered that article was a one-paragraph stub, so I got to work on expanding it, with references. (I'd already read lots of similar magazine article to guide me.) Later on, when I felt confident in my skills I decided there should be an article on the magazine The Little Corporal and I my time and wrote the best article I could.

I would suggest you try to find smaller articles on subjects that interest you, ones that don't have a lot of others regularly working on. Take your time and look for good references with information that will help expand the article you're working on. I work on articles off-line, in files where I keep my research, and the new sections I'm working on. Best wishes on your future Wikipedia projects.
