Lugger

Thank you for drawing my attention to the St Abbs site. I like it. I wish I could say I had done something similar in my part of the world. If it's your site, congratulations! Any tips about software, pitfalls and the like would be welcome. :)

About your question: taking the columns as lettered and the rows as numbered, the best seems to be E 11. It includes the whole rig and the figures give a good idea of the size of the vessel and its sails.
C 9 would make a second best choice.
B 7 would be useful if you were looking not at the rig, as is relevant here but at the lines of the hull.

Hello Peter, I discovered your nice article yesterday when I was creating Scottish Fisheries Museum. I see that the images you added come from the St Abbs community website. From the discussion above it seems that you are the site creator, and if so well done, it's a very nicely done and informative site. Just for your information the link you had in the St. Abbs article just leads to what looks like an old maintenance notification, so you may wish to fix that on the community site page. I've also fixed the article meantime.

My main reason for contacting you is that the copyright tags you have on the 3 images are a bit ambiguous, and they run the risk of being flagged up for deletion. Image copyright is one of the "big issues" on WP right now, and it would be a shame to see these falling foul of the many bots and users running round identifying incorrectly tagged images. If the drawing of the Fifie was created by you, it might be best to release it under one of the acceptable free licences rather that "copyright, no rights reserved". The postcard images are also tagged as "copyrighted free use" which seems to be doubtful. If the postcards were published before 1923, which looks likely, then they are almost certainly Public Domain in the US, which would make them bombproof as far as deletion goes. Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags are very helpful for treading through the copyright minefield.

I cannot second this sentiment. If you find it so offensive to have the gaelic language appear in the context of the borders argue your case on the talk page, build consensus and respect the sources.
