Wiki Loves Pride 2014
[edit]Hi, Poppy. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 18:23, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
You are invited to participate in Wiki Loves Pride!
- What? Wiki Loves Pride, a campaign to document and photograph LGBT culture and history, including pride events
- When? June 2015
- How can you help?
- 1.) Create or improve LGBT-related articles and showcase the results of your work here
- 2.) Upload photographs or other media related to LGBT culture and history, including pride events, and add images to relevant Wikipedia articles; feel free to create a subpage with a gallery of your images (see examples from last year)
- 3.) Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)
Or, view or update the current list of Tasks. This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. Visit the group's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome!
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's main talk page.
Thanks, and happy editing!

Neil Slorance
[edit]Hi, I noticed you added the stub tag to my newly submitted article Neil Slorance. I must admit to being quite surprised, since stubs are generally much shorter. I was wondering what you think needs adding in order to upgrade it from stub status? I've asked the subject if he'd be willing to release a picture of himself under a Creative Commons licence, which he said he would be. I'm just waiting for him to get back to me about that. --Poppy Appletree (talk) 03:39, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, Poppy Appletree. Maybe it wasn't the best choice using that stub template. Perhaps I should've used the cleanup template, mentioning as a reason that there were disambiguation pages, and others areas that could be improved, such as the infobox and false other people template. Thanks, en:User:Rtrust (talk). TS: 03:50, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- What changes would you recommend making to the infobox? Slorance is such an obscure surname that it seems unlikely that disambiguation would be an issue. I've removed the Other People tag since there isn't a disambiguation page - I'd copied the infobox of Alan Moore since I couldn't find a template for comic artists, and that must have gotten in there with it. --Poppy Appletree (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hello again. You correctly removed the other people template, but you missed the travelouges disambiguation, which I corrected in this edit. en:User:Rtrust (talk) 04:14, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, it wasn't clear that you meant a disambiguation issue regarding one of the wikilinks - I thought you meant regarding the lack of a bracketed description in the article title. What do you think needs improving regarding the infobox, and do you mind if I remove the stub tag? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poppy Appletree (talk • contribs) 04:24, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- I am currently editing the page, so don't edit the stub to cause an edit conflict; I will, although. en:User:Rtrust (talk) 04:25, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) --Poppy Appletree (talk) 04:42, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
