ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:57, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A providing topic about Inside Out 2

[edit]

You cannot add Inside Out 2 in highest grossing sports films, it is considered not a sports film nor it has been. It’s an animated film and you cannot add it all in. The reason why I removed them is because Inside Out 2 is not related to sports or ice hockey, and it’s not the highest grossing sports film. Furious 7 is the highest grossing sports film. You cannot add it all in. So I’m sorry, but it is what it is. 74.108.71.76 (talk) 06:55, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your opinion, however, any dispute about a specific article should first be mediated on the article's talk page. I've already written a blurb there stating my position, which contains external sources to support it. Puhala,ny (talk) 11:59, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well still, adding it in the highest grossing sports films just doesn’t feel right to me. 74.108.71.76 (talk) 12:14, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is what the article's talk page is for. Do not make any changes without first reaching consensus there. If consensus is not reached, then we will leave the page as-is. Puhala,ny (talk) 14:24, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can do whatever I want. You will not control me. You’re not my master. Consensus can just kiss my heart out of my skin. Furious 7 is still the highest grossing sports film. Stop putting Inside Out 2 in the list and refrain from adding it right now. Otherwise, your next step is over. 74.108.71.76 (talk) 02:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And you’re NOT allowed to put it back in because I added everything back to what it was and you can’t undo that. Your edits are a waste of time and I hope the mods fix this. 74.108.71.76 (talk) 02:15, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think this has risen to a level worth getting admins or other formal dispute resolution involved. You're right -- I can't control you, and I believe that your edits, at least initially, were in good faith. I'll caution you that Wikipedia is not place to edit in a way that furthers your opinions, but a place to summarize material that has been put forth by external sources. Hopefully, your future contributions will reflect that. Puhala,ny (talk) 02:33, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussed

The highest grossing sports page has be brought up for discussion see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of highest-grossing sports films

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I don't think I'll comment; I'll just let things play out. I don't think that the page falls under WP:OR, but then again, finding multiple external sources that say "____ is a sports movie, and the sport it is about is ____" for every movie listed there would be quite difficult. Puhala,ny (talk) 21:20, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think we have to source every film just any that people question about (for example babe but a film like cars is obviously a sports film so does not need a source).Fanoflionking3 (talk) 21:55, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
