Speedy deletion nomination of Tribeca Shortlist

[edit]

Hello Pyrasical,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tribeca Shortlist for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Meiloorun (talk) 🍁 00:13, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your comment on the talk page. However, you can't copy material from other sources into Wikipedia--that's a copyright problem. agtx 02:42, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Its out of my hands. You'll just have to wait for the CCU people to look at it. Be patient, they will get to it, its just a matter of time. TomStar81 (Talk) 22:42, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Just sit tight. The CCU people clear out the pages in the order of oldest to newest, they will get to it eventually, its just going to take some time. Since Wikpedia's decision to shut itself down so to speak the project as a whole has been dying a slow death, the number of people contributing is down drastically, and what once took hours now takes months, however CCU deals with an aspect of Wikipedia that has legal ramifications, so the CCU people have to clear out the backlogs. Its just a matter of when they will get to it. If you lack the patience to wait I could give you the usernames of a few people know to work in this area, they may be able to speed up the process, but I can not guarantee anything. • My go to person for copyright related issues is Moonriddengirl (talk · contribs), she's exceptionally good at finding and removing copyright material and at guiding users through the ORTS system for submission of material to Wikipedia. I have also known Justlettersandnumbers (talk · contribs) and Nyttend (talk · contribs) to work on copyright cleanup, they may be able to help if you approach them politely and explain the situation. TomStar81 (Talk) 21:46, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • I've just now looked over the situation. From a copyright and plagiarism standpoint, this page was still a problem; some of it was still word-for-word identical to the source page, and most of the rest was closely paraphrased. Please create a new page with entirely new wording, because that will be copyright-safe. Moreover, please don't use Tribeca Shortlist's own page as a source about itself; an encyclopedia article should depend on reliable independent secondary sources, such as books from major publishers, academic journals, and governmental or academic websites. Nyttend (talk) 22:28, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
          • It was deleted and protected because it was letter for letter the previous version of the article, all of which were copyrighted and therefore ineligible for inclusion on Wikipedia Since its clear this account has a history of long term systemic copyright abuse the article has been permanently protected and will not be unlocked for creation until we are sure that the next version you create is not in any way, shape, or form a copyright infringement. Honestly, you should be grateful, standard operating procedure is to block the account permanently so it can not contribute to Wikipedia; instead I've simply prevented tribeca shortlist from ever having a Wikipedia page.
