Hello, RAMPG, and welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world. To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has over one million articles! But we still need more! Please feel free to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site. Also, thank you for your contributions, if you actually made any. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.
Also, don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. If you are interested in Russia-related themes, you may want to check out the Russian Portal, particularly the Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. You may even want to add these boards to your watchlist. And on a personal note, when considering whether or not you wish you remain a contributor, please be aware that several editors, most of them administrators, have been subject to Internet and real-life stalking and harrassment as a result of their contributions to Wikipedia. You may wish to consider keeping your name and other identifying information private. Also please be aware that developers and users with access to a feature called checkuser [1] have access to personal information such as your IP address, and may reveal that information under certain circumstances.
Again, welcome! -Kitia
Regarding how to rename an article, you just click on the "move" tab near the top of the page. However, you also need to fix any double redirects.
But before you move it, what should the correct title be? It seems that the full name of the structure is Fortín de San Gerónimo del Boquerón, however Wikipedia standards state that the most common name should be used for the title -- for example, how would the fort be referred to in a local newspaper? See El Cañuelo for an example. — Eoghanacht talk 12:58, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ramon, it would be great if you could check into the dates and do whatever fixing is needed. Let me know in my user page what you come up with. Hasta luego, Boricua. Tony the Marine 23:10, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mi viejo amigo Ramon: I made the changes thta you suggested because I also agree with you. Paul G. Miller was appointed by the government of the United States to rewrite an Americanized version of the history of Puerto Rico, substituting in our schools the correct texts which were written by Salvador Brau in an attempt to Americanize the island. I hope that I am not discredited (smile). Thank you for bringing it up and for the fixes. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:58, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
