Reference for tufao in tropical cyclone article

[edit]

Could you please provide the complete web address for the reference you're using? I'm trying to send tropical cyclone through FAC, again, and need a working reference or it's all for naught. Thegreatdr (talk) 16:05, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Before I removed it, it was showing up below in red as a mistake in cite web. It used a ref name that was not found above in the article, something with CMA in it, but had no actual web address. Thegreatdr (talk) 17:17, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When you update fatalities, like you did here, be sure to update the number in the section relating to the storm itself (in this case, Ivan), and use the source you got it from. Thanks! -- RattleMan 15:38, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do you create those images like that? I'd like to create one. Weatherlover819 (talk) 06:17, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the image editor? Weatherlover819 (talk) 22:39, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Which one do you use? Just curious, I haven't uploaded images before. Weatherlover819 (talk) 03:37, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HNSky help

How do you load the "World map.sup" into HNSky? I want to try making a map for PAGASA's Tropical Depression Gener. -- RattleMan 03:07, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Track maps

[edit]

We just take the world map and use a little math to figure out where to place the dot on the map. Rattleman uses Paint, I use GIMP. -CWY2190(talkcontributions) 17:37, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, since I was able to crop the image I was able to load it in Macromedia/Adobe Fireworks and work with it from there. Check out my response to CWY2190 to find the program I created to determine what pixel to put a dot at. From there I just draw a circle and use lines connecting them. -- RattleMan 19:49, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Météo-France's and JTWC BT data

[edit]

Where are you getting the BT data for the 2007-08 SWIO? I guess I'm sort of surprised that Hondo was downgraded. -- RattleMan 00:05, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback re: hurricane track maps

[edit]

Could you consider editing some of the track maps that are incomplete? Some examples are Hanna, which moved along the New England coast as a extratropical storm, however you only have the track as far north as Cape Cod, MA area before Hanna became extratropical. Please consider editing this map and others that are imcomplete, as I believe you are supposed to include an entire track of a storm from when it forms and when it dissipates. Thanks. Tracks

[edit]

I have the track map generator working on my mac. I'll do some of the final updates with it. I realized we were working on the update for Kyle at the same time. Potapych (talk) 16:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Typhoon Dolphin

[edit]

I'm not going to get into an edit war so I'll just comment here about it. Dolphin was originally an extratropical cyclone before it transitioned into a tropical cyclone. The CMC Model clearly shows this, having it being a rather strong storm before the transition. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 16:06, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They did? Hmm...well, ir's probably best to leave it with what has been stated, especially since there's no written source for the beginnings of Dolphin being extratropical. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 18:25, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Track map program query

[edit]

Hi, I've been seeing that you've been updating tropical cyclone track maps lately with the same program made by Jdorje and I've been trying to figure out how to download it and get it up and running but I can't figure out how to do it all. Since you have it, you likely know how to do all of that so I'd greatly appreciate if you could tell me how I can download the necessary programs for it, where to get them, and how to start using it. Thanks, Cyclonebiskit (talk) 18:23, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tropical Depression Auring (2009) Track Map

[edit]

Hi, I see that you've created the prelim. tracking map for TD Auring. Can you update it with information from the Running Best Track? Points prior to 00Z on January 3 are low pressure points (meaning the triangle symbol on the map) and starting at and following 06Z on January 9 are remnant low points (also the triangle symbol). Thanks, Cyclonebiskit (talk) 02:11, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late response but thanks :D Can you also update Cinda's track map using the Running Best track? Cyclonebiskit (talk) 19:37, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
True, can't hurt to have it though ;) Cyclonebiskit 23:05, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Severe Tropical Storm Fanele track

[edit]

Another request :) Can you create the track map for STS Fanele? I'm planning on making an article for it before it dissipates since it is forecast to impact land and having the track map would be very helpful. tracking points are located here. There is also one for 1200 UTC on January 19 (if it's not there when you get this message) it's 21.9S 41.0E Thanks, Cyclonebiskit 15:34, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, don't worry, it's no biggie :) Thanks anyways. Cyclonebiskit 23:27, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If you have the time some time soon, could you make track maps for the following storms

thanks --Anhamirak 12:48, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. I know you're busy, but if you get a chance (you'll get a cookie!), would you be able to add Tropical Storm Alma to that map, and remove Hurricanes Fico and Fefa? The project decided to remove those two, when we got some confirmation from the NHC. There is no rush, but it would be greatly appreciated! :) ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:44, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
