Beware of overlinking

[edit]

Thanks for your edits on Night and Fog. It's not necessarily to link the same phrase (e.g. concentration camp) multiple times. See MOS:DL. - kosboot (talk) 14:01, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Luchino Visconti, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see MOS:UNLINKDATES & MOS:OVERLINK. Peaceray (talk) 17:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Paul Belmondo (sculptor). There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please see MOS:UNLINKDATES & MOS:OVERLINK. Peaceray (talk) 17:35, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page numbers at Draft:Septilici family

[edit]

Do you have access to this English version:

  • Cantimir, Demetrius (2023). Brackob, A.K. (ed.). A description of Moldavia. Las Vegas: Center for Romanian Studies. ISBN 978-1-59211-025-4. OCLC 1408958860.

If so, could you please provide the page numbers.

Alternatively, if you read Romanian, then perhaps you could use this online book instead to get page numbers:

More complete citations

[edit]

Your citations at Mircea Septilici seem a bit sparse. I suggest using citer.toolforge.org. For instance, by inputting the URL, it would convert this:

into this:

Here is the Wikitext:

  • {{cite web | title=Drama unui mare actor român: văduv la 32 ani, închis după o înscenare. Moare la 8.000 km de România | website=Newsweek Romania | date=2023-08-02 | url=https://newsweek.ro/cultura/actorul-mircea-septilici-a-fost-vaduv-si-arestat-de-comunisti-moare-in-canada | access-date=2024-09-07}}

Although citer.toolforge.org often retrieves the author, when it does not, I think it is best to use the the authors name when it is available, in this case, |last=Darvari |first=Alex. Since this is English Wikipedia (enwiki), I also consider it a courtesy to include an English translation of the title, for instance: |trans-title=The drama of a great Romanian actor: widowed at 32, imprisoned after a performance. He dies 8,000 km from Romania |language=ro Here is the code with the additional parameters:

  • {{cite web |last=Darvari |first=Alex | title=Drama unui mare actor român: văduv la 32 ani, închis după o înscenare. Moare la 8.000 km de România |trans-title=The drama of a great Romanian actor: widowed at 32, imprisoned after a performance. He dies 8,000 km from Romania | website=Newsweek Romania | date=2023-08-02 | url=https://newsweek.ro/cultura/actorul-mircea-septilici-a-fost-vaduv-si-arestat-de-comunisti-moare-in-canada |language=ro | access-date=2024-09-07}}

This is what it looks like with the additional parameters:

There is more information about parameters at Template:Cite web & for citation templates in general at WP:CT. I hope this is helpful. Peaceray (talk) 16:40, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
