Very strange
[edit]This is extremely odd. I haven't yet reconstructed what happened. I have deleted quite a few pages tagged as G8, but I don't recall ZYCUS. I don't see any sign that it was tagged as a G8. The irony is that I am concerned that some legitimate articles are being mistakenly tagged as G8, and I am trying to find a solution, but this doesn't seem like it fits that situation.
In any event, I appreciate that you asked, rather than jump to conclusions, and I thank Shirt58 for rescuing it.
My apologies for deleting, it should not have happened.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 10:57, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
I've partially reconstructed what happened, which may not matter to you. The article you worked on was started in the AfC process, then (presumably) accepted, and moved to main article space. That process created a redirect, which needed to be deleted. The request to delete the redirect was handled by me. That deletion was routine. I deleted the main article at the same time, so I may have inadvertently clicked on the link to the main article, and deleted it. However, by researching this, I see that there was a talk page, which I will now restore.
I will also move the user page article back into main space, as I assume it had previosuly been accepted. I will change the name to Zycus, per our naming convention.
The article is now at Zycus, and the talk page at Talk:Zycus.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 11:13, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
Status
[edit]The article is indeed more substantial than I thought; I apologize for not having sufficiently checked the edit history. . Anyone, even the original contributor, may remove a Prod tag, (unlike a speedy) so I removed it. I am not sure it meets the notability standard, but that would be a question for AfD if I or anyone else were to take it there. Be aware that the awards are not particularly significant, and some of the Spend Matters material just mentions the company in a general discussion. Other articles from there seem to be substantially about Zycus, but I personally have no knowledge about the reliability of this publication.
I removed some things we normally do not include, and made some other copyedits. I've also protected the page for a short period against editing by unregistered editors. If it should get vandalized nonetheless, I can take further action--please let me know on my talk page if it becomes needed. DGG ( talk ) 19:39, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
