Commercial use of Image:PSLV-1.JPG

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:PSLV-1.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:PSLV-1.JPG is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:PSLV-1.JPG itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 08:11, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Agni.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Agni.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:08, 30 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 16:08, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is nice that you uploaded an image at Pokhran-II. However, I doubt that you may be the copyright holder of the image as the region where explosion took place was high security region. Were you present there?! In case, the image is in the Public domain, please provide a suitable link. Thanks. --Bhadani (talk) 14:53, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Roghov, I feel that the images that you have uploaded are from the site http://nuclearweaponarchive.org/India/IndiaShakti.html, I know that the images are in public domain but that does not make them free images. Moreover I am of the same opinion as Bhadani that it would be quite doubtful if not impossible that you are the copyright holder of the images. So please change the copyright tag to fair use. Arjun Image

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:arjun-1.jpg. Unfortunately, the image was too blurry to use on the infobox. The original image was no better, but being less blurry, I have let it be. I have added ur image to the Gallery section.

However, I do have a concern that the copyright tag you have specified is wrong, since I think I remember having seen this image in an official DRDO document. I'm trying to thresh it out now. If you have indeed taken the picture, my apologies. I request that you use the correct license and copyright tags in the future. While your edits may be in good faith, it is a bad idea to change tags and claim copyright or authorship, since it could cause problems for you and wikipedia later. Thanks. [edit]

Hi, It appears you obtained the Arjun-2 image from this website although you claim that "this is a photo taken by myself during the republic day parade in New Delhi." Can you please verify if you indeed are the photographer and explain the presence of the text on the bottom-right part of the image ? If you don't hold the copyright for this image (and several others you have uploaded onto wikipedia that have similar problems), then these images need to be deleted. Also note that deliberate and/or repeated violation of copyright on wikipedia is likely to get you blocked from editing. Abecedare (talk) 09:17, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
