Hi!
[edit]Hi Sam, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm a fellow Wikipedian - well obviously - and also a Katycat. I've been making a major restructuration of "Roar", and I'd like to know if you have any suggestions to improve it: if so, edit directly, and I'll review your edits. Also, I'm trying to make the page a good article, so let me know about anything you want to add, ASAP. Leaving that topic behind, what did you think about Prism? :) prism △ 21:34, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hey Pedro, nice to meet another Katycat on Wikipedia! You've done a great job with the Roar article, I'll have a look in a bit and see if there's anything I can add. I've only skimmed through it but it seems good from what I've read, hope we can get it to good article status. I love Prism of course, Katy could never do wrong in my eyes! Unconditionally, By the Grace of God, Legendary Lovers and Double Rainbow are my favourites. What about you? :) Samjohnzon (talk) 22:15, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
Image removal
[edit]Sam, I had to remove the images you uploaded and used in the "Unconditionally" article since they were non-free images. I tried to do the same sort of thing with the "Roar" article but my images kept getting removed (and later deleted since Wikipedia eventually deletes unused non-free images when not being used). I would also like to commend you for your work on other Katy articles- you've been quite active! Keep up the good work, though know that images like the ones you used aren't allowed to be used since they are non-free images of a living person. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 22:54, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- OK, that's fine - I wasn't aware, sorry. Thanks by the way, I'm quite new to Wikipedia so I'm still learning but just trying to help improve any Katy articles in any way I can. Thanks for letting me know! Samjohnzon (talk) 01:29, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
By the Grace of God
[edit]Hey Sam, since you're a Perry fan - like me - could you please upload these pictures onto Wikipedia? I can't figure out how to get the Flickr thingy on the filepage. http://www.flickr.com/photos/80999216@N07/10029611276/in/photolist-ghho1m-gkYZVs-gh2GQ5-ghs2vd and http://www.flickr.com/photos/95195487@N08/10071486064/in/photolist-gkYZVs-gh2GQ5-ghs2vd ? If you can, please do it. Thanks in advance. Prism △ 20:09, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, I can't upload either of those because of copyright, you can only upload images from Flickr that have been specified that they're allowed to be used commercially. So basically, you can only use images that are on this page: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=katy+perry&l=comm&ss=0&ct=0&mt=all&adv=1&s=rec It's really inconvenient! Samjohnzon (talk) 15:00, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying! Answering back, my favorite tracks are Spiritual and Choose Your Battles. Prism △ 15:50, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
DYK nomination of List of songs written by Bonnie McKee
[edit]Hello! Your submission of List of songs written by Bonnie McKee at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! — Maile (talk) 21:37, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
- Samjohnzon, it has been a week since this was posted here, and there hasn't been any response. Please note that the expansion being required is not large, but we need to know whether you're still interested in this DYK nomination and plan to do the work. I hope we hear from you very soon. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:04, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

Katy Perry Net Worth
[edit]Sam,
I've noticed you deem "therichest.com" and "musiclegends.ca" as unreliable for finding Katy's net worth. My question for you in that case is: what source(s) would you use? I would use Forbes, but the site is currently just listing her annual earnings and not her total net worth. I've been searching for her net worth for the past week or so.
XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 19:44, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Snuggums, personally I'd only consider a reliable source for her net worth to be some kind of well-known, reliable publication such as Forbes or Billboard. Also, the figure of $55m seems inaccurate to me; according to Forbes, Katy earned $44m in 2012 alone, so I'd estimate her net worth to be above the $55m mark. Is it possible to use the sum of all of her yearly earnings according to Forbes and cite them all? Samjohnzon (talk) 20:05, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- Good thinking, though one must remember to take in account how much she gives away. The closest I can find is how therichest.com lists this estimation of $55 million. For now, I'll combine the Forbes listings and mention that it is an estimation. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 20:10, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
DYK for List of songs written by Bonnie McKee
[edit]On 19 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of songs written by Bonnie McKee, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Bonnie McKee has co-written eight number one singles, five of which were sung by Katy Perry? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of songs written by Bonnie McKee. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

[edit]Hello Samjohnzon, I was wondering if you could see the video for Natalia Kills - Problem on YouTube and write me a detailed synopsis like you did on Roar. I've been trying but I can't, my English is not that good and it always results in repeating phrases and it just doesn't work. If you can't or are busy, or even if you don't feel like it, it's ok :) prism △ 17:35, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Article Promotion
[edit]Sam, you've worked your ass off as hard as I have on the Katy Perry article, so lemme know as soon as you feel it's ready to submit for GA nomination and we'll co-nominate together. If it passes, I'm thinking of also getting it to featured article status, and for it to be the "Today's Featured Article" on October 25th for her birthday. Sound like a good goal? Also, I've noticed you've done lots of work for Hot n Cold, and if you nominate that for GA I'd be more than willing to review it. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 06:16, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
- I'd love to nominate it, and working towards featured status seems like a great goal to me! I love the idea of featuring the article on her birthday. I've been meaning to nominate the Hot n Cold article for some time, so I'll do that soon and let you know as soon as I do - thanks in advance. S△M talk 16:43, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Quick Note
[edit]For Katy Perry to pass its GAN, the article needs to remain stable (i.e. no edit wars or ongoing additions/removals). What you've added to the article since it's been nominated so far is fine, just don't get carried away in order for it to pass. Unless the reviewer asks for less/more content, it's best not to keep adding and adding/removing and removing content. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 22:47, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
Regarding this edit, I can't help but wonder: did you by any chance attend the show yourself? If so, one huge favor you could do for the editors is to write a concert synopsis. I would gather bits from reviews to write that up, but the reviews don't provide all the necessary detail. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 02:14, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I attended the Nottingham show. I can definitely write up a synopsis, I should be able to that today if I have the time actually. S△M talk 14:34, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Katy Perry images
[edit]Hi Sam, just wanted to let you know that the Flickr images you uploaded were not passed by the FlickrBot for the following reasons. You had given incorrect url for the images. For example, you just mentioned this as the url for File:Katy Perry MSG 5.jpg, whereas the actual image is present at this url. I have corrected all the image urls, now they won't get deleted. Please take a note of this the next time you upload something. Cheers and thanks for the images though. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 16:49, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Thank you so much for the barnstar, it's really appreciated- and I really appreciate all your incredible hard work and dedication to the article too!! S△M talk 14:58, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- My pleasure, bro. This is also the first FA for WP:KATY! I hope to get more of her articles to FA at some point as well. I see you've done some work on "Killer Queen" perfume- I wouldn't nominate that for GA yet (mainly due to incomplete refs), but always know I'm open if you need a reviewer for your GAN's. If any of her articles really need work, it's those from the One of the Boys era (except of course for Hot n Cold, which you nominated for GA and I passed back in April). I'm too involved with "I Kissed a Girl", the album page, and "Hello Katy Tour" to review those, though. Snuggums (talk / edits) 15:34, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

If you'd like to see an FA appear on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with about 1,302 articles waiting their turn at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be).
