Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

Greece creation date
Sorry for writing this but as stated this is not simply an issue of the Greece article. So why in a rush to change the date? Shouldn't all the other articles be informed and why your specific insistence on Greece. I will not change it but you shouldn't have changed it before the issue is dealt as a whole. AlbusTheWhite (talk) 22:22, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- @AlbusTheWhite There is clear consensus for removal. 10 people want it removed, 5 want it to stay. The RfC ended, and the discussion has also ceased naturally. The consensus is that it has no place on the infobox in this particular article. If you wish to take the matter to other articles, or the infobox, by all means do so. But the consensus on the article on Greece is clear. --Michail (blah) 22:25, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 21:20, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something silly. |

Demonym
Hi, how are u?, I see here that you understand the situation about the demonyms of the countries, so, I want to ask you did you want to join in the descussion here and to help me to prove my claims. Namely, I'm claiming the the demonym refers to all the residents of one country and because of that the link for the demonym of the countries who have a dominant ethnic group, can't go to that ethnic group, but to the demographics of that country. I explained my claims and on my talk page, you can read them. Linking to disambiguation pages
Regarding the hatnote in the Macedonia (Greece), it should link to the explicitly named Macedonia (disambiguation), even if it's a redirect. This is explained at WP:INTDAB. The "{{!}}Macedonia" bit is just to make the result easier on the eye. I'll reinstate the change. Favonian (talk) 19:14, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- Favonian Why would you put the disambiguation link as Macedonia (a redirect) instead of Macedonia? --Michail (blah) 19:22, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- That's what WP:INTDAB is all about. Links from articles to dab pages are usually made by accident. Routing it through the "... (disambiguation)" redirect makes it clear that link is intentional. Favonian (talk) 19:25, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- Favonian Right, I see, I read the policy wrong. Sorry! --Michail (blah) 19:27, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Macedonia (Greece) pronunciation guide
You reverted edit stating it was an "unexplained removal". It was not. I specifically gave "En-pronunciation audio guide uses "ts" in places of "s"; ref: https://forvo.com/word/macedonia/#en" as the reason for removal. Whilst you may disagree with that, you could at least be courteous enough not to be so lazy with your own edit comment. I still maintain that the English pronunciation guide is, to my ears, wrong, treating the "c" in "Macedonia" as "ts". The Forvo link I provided has four correct-sounding versions. I do not have the facilities to create my own audio file to replace the one I consider in error. Bazza (talk) 12:13, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- Bazza 7 it's an unexplained removal because the audio description is not saying "Matsedonia", so I don't see why you'd remove it. Good faith removal, but still an unexplained one. --Michail (blah) 12:33, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- The removal was explained. The text is there in my edit summary, so it cannot logically or otherwise be "unexplained". I (native British English speaker) hear 'ts', albeit with a shortened 't'. I do not hear the same sound on the four Forvo samples I linked to. If you do not understand that this is the reason for my removal, then please help me explain more. On the actual sound file itself, do you know how to create or upload an alternative? Bazza (talk) 14:14, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Problem with your custom signature
Hello, I'm sending you this note because you need to update your signature. You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Your signature does not link to your account. This is usually because your account has been renamed.
To fix your signature, you need to find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences and either blank it or change the link to your current account name. More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. mw:New requirements for user signatures/Help#Wrong user links. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures.

Old Greek national anthem
A few years ago you added a reference to God Save the Queen to note that the Greek national anthem under King Otto used the same melody (by way of the Bavarian anthem at the time). You provided this source and translated the lyrics to English. I was just wondering where in the link the original Greek lyrics are given? Many thanks! -- Udzu (talk) 09:02, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
