Need some more information about editing a longer piece

[edit]

I am working on grammatical and style for Evin Prison. It needs extensive stylistic work and the second section is long. I would like to use the Sandbox but I am not sure if that is appropriate. I could also copy and paste into a Word document. If I do either the sandbox or the Word doc can I then just replace a whole section with my editing? Also I noticed that one statement mentioned (needs citation) I am not sure how to add that phrase. Scribe4562 (talk) 01:09, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Always provide a link when you ask about an article, making it easy for a helper to look at the article. I added the link for you. When working on a longer article:
    • Your sandbox would be fine.
    • You could use MS WORD, but following the syntax and conventions for Wikipedia can be tricky.
      • Before you paste something back in, check the history to be sure another editor has not made a change before yours.
I suspect that you lack confidence in doing the changes directly in the article. Use the sandbox, and then repeat the changes in the live article.--DThomsen8 (talk) 01:39, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Braces have faces!

[edit]

Here are two templates to add to Evin Prison as you work on it.

Replace the copyedit template at the top with this template, changing * to {:

  • {GOCEinuse|user=Scribe4562|date=September 2015}}

Remove that when you are done, and add this template on the talk page , changing * to {:

  • {GOCE|user=Scribe4562|date=September 2015}}

That one says you are done.

Cheers!--DThomsen8 (talk) 12:40, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you will do this before copyediting much more on Evin Prison.--DThomsen8 (talk) 23:48, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a meeting on October 13?

[edit]

I made notes at the last meeting that we would reconvene at the Chemical Heritage Foundation on the 2nd Tuesday of October. I plan to attend. Please confirm that my information is correct. Mary PierScribe4562 (talk) 16:57, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
