Redirection - U.S. women's national soccer team

Hi Seany,

my edit was a redirection to the men's article. These are useful to make the context clear for all readers. Maybe you misunderstood this. Bildersindtoll (talk) 16:48, 17 November 2022 (UTC)

@Bildersindtoll: I understood. Longstanding practice by involved editors at USWNT page is that this redirect is unnecessary because the page already has "women's" in its title due to its significant coverage and the USMNT page also has "men's" in its title already, unlike most other national teams (e.g., Germany national football team vs. Germany women's national football team). Ok,but..."Longstanding practice by involved editors" isn't a thruthful guideline of a encyclopedia.
It's near to making own rules by interpretation.
WP:PG is the right way. Bildersindtoll (talk) 18:19, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
There are no established WP:PG on this and you're also pushing for making your own rules. There are, however, established ways for involved editors to discuss and reach a consensus like WP:BRD, so there's no need to complain like you're being personally wronged about something that's honestly very minor. @Seany91? But then why is there a redirection on the men's team page? (to women's team page) I don't think it makes much sense to separate them like that. If a reader is looking for the article about the men's team, then he should find it with the redirection. Of course, the same should apply the other way around.
