NPA comment re Jon Mikl Thor article
[edit]re "broke down massive lead into subsections. The article is still biased junk though" that's not just a POV statement it's also a POV against JMT who's been listening to me about proper citing and so on; I haven't had time to work on it though the links given contain nearly all that's in the article; like a lot of celeb articles it's got content and format problems; he's respecting what I told him about COI, you should not be calling his contribuations "biased junk", but workign to either remove or reword what you see as biased and not degrade and insult another editor...and yes, he's another editor, and you're directly insulting him; it's also BLP too, if you stop and think about it. Disrespect is way too common in Wikipedia, as is pompous arrogance; if thine eye offend thee strike it out....and be polite to someone who has seen fit to abide by wikipedia rules and reespets guidance... you should too.Skookum1 (talk) 19:06, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- I think it's a stretch to call out "degrading insult" (per the definitions in WP:PA), but I am sorry about that nasty edit summary. I never meant to insult Thor or any other editor; in fact I had no idea he was involved with the article.
- I have made another edit since, improving the grammar, fixing mistakes, adding links and reformulating or removing material that presented bias. --Serpinium (talk) 20:09, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've been slagged for alleged NPA for far less myself, if I were to post anything directly down-putting like that I know what I'd hear....even for simply discussing /recounting another editor's actions I've been accused of NPA; originally it was meant for direct insult and obscenities and such, but has become much more since....
- I've been meaning to get back to that article; I read one of those mag-cites and nearly everything in the content, brag-sounding or otherwise, is in there. That's why I took refimprove off in fact.....Skookum1 (talk) 10:43, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Ain't It Cool
[edit]The Ain't It Cool is not a reliable website as it is. Harry Knowles "is" the website and its is a movie gossip website. Los Angeles Times: "... a World Wide Web site (http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com) that dishes up gossip about Hollywood productions..." "Not every studio executive expresses concern about Knowles and other Web gossip brokers." Hollywood Reporter: "'Ain't It Cool News has always been a business that was run like a really great hobby,' says writer Drew McWeeny, one of Knowles' oldest friends and a former contributor (under the byline Moriarty) to the site. 'As a result, I don't believe it is the business it could have or even should have been. People came to him and offered venture capital. There were some fairly major overtures made. But Harry would not get in a position where someone else could say yes or no. It remains exactly what it was in 1996-97, which is Harry's personal site with Harry's friends and a few close collaborators. It's still a scrappy little bedroom operation. I suspect as long as Harry is part of Ain't It Cool News, that is what it will be.'"
The article you linked from AIC shows that he treats it as his personal website as the intro is total from a personal perspective not a journalistic one, which is a tip off that it is not a news site nor reliable. Spshu (talk) 13:50, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Spshu: Doesn't it even count as a primary source for the VFX artist who wrote to him? What if I added "Harry claims..." to show it may not be reliable? Serpinium (talk) 14:19, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- Sure. Spshu (talk) 14:31, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

The article Rapsittie Street Kids: Believe in Santa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
As another editor mentioned on talk page, article was deleted after an AfD early 2017; concerns raised then do not appear to have been resolved.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Moaz786 (talk to me or see what I've been doing) 19:49, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
