Slow down!
I realise that you have a burning desire to contribute to Wikipedia but, simply copying and pasting EB 1911 stuff is not really very useful - since it is already available on the web - what Wikipedia needs is original content. So, please slow down - take time to remove the OCR errors (see below) fully wikify articles, put them in categories, create incoming links and above all, search the web for up to date info. to add.
There is also a small matter of copyright. To take just one example, the OCR errors in Preanger tell me that you copied this page from here. Have you read the bottom of those pages? It says taking Contents from this site and editing it and posting it on another site is forbidden and will result in swift legal action. You have been warned! -- RHaworth 23:56, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- I have to agree with RHaworth -- the content you posted about German villages (some of which are in Poland or France these days, and I moved them to the villages' new names) is so hopelessly outdated that it is almost useless (and the OCR errors don't help). If you want Wikipedia to include articles about these villages, it would be better to ask at Wikipedia:German-English translation requests to have the current German wikipedia article translated. Your EB articles don't need to be updated, they need to be rewritten from scratch, and having a redlink for them would be more useful for that purpose. Kusma (討論) 03:50, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
My RFA
Hi Siva1979/Archive 2, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). If you voted in support of my request, thank you! If you decided to oppose me at this time, then I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position. All the best, Proto t c 10:41, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

I've created a project on non-league football at Wikipedia:WikiProject Non-league football. There isn't much there yet, but please add your name if you're interested and feel free to add any content or put any suggestions on its talk page. CTOAGN (talk) 10:12, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
1913 enc. articles about German towns
Hi Siva1979, thanks for your series about German towns. But may I say that the material from that old encyclopedia is, most of the time, so outdated that it's really of not much use. I think it generally would take no less time cleaning up one of those articles than translating one from de.wikipedia afresh (I tried once in the case of Frankenhausen.) You might want to consider if it wouldn't perhaps be more efficient to simply list the topics under "requested articles", and wait for someone to come along and work from the German? phobia
Thank you for your entusiasm in editing wikipedia.
First of all, I am afraid you misunderstand the goal of wikipedia when you say "as long as the word exists in English language". Wiktionary is for all words. Please read WP:NOT.
Also, please be careful with -phobia article. Please read the article and its talk page and talk archive. There are tens of thousands of possible phobias. The main criterion in wikipedia is notability. If you are going to write articles about "pseudo"-phobias, make sure that the particular case is notable, i.e., discussed in reputable medical journals of some notable persons sufferred from it, etc. Simply copying from various snake oil psychiatry websites will not do.
After writing an article, please place the link into the section "well-documented phobias" of -phobia article. Eventually the bottom alphabetical list must disappear. I am periodically removing 1-2 entries from this list after verifying its non-notability. mikka (t) 20:12, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
My RFA
Hey, Siva1979 (AKA One With Her), I wanted to thank you for your support of my (unfortunately unsuccessful) request for adminship. The final tally was 37/16/5, which fell short of the needed 75-80% for "consensus". I don't know if or when I'll go up for nomination again, but even if I don't, I will try not to betray the trust that you and 36 others were willing to place in me. Thanks for having faith in me... and happy editing! Matt Yeager ♫ (Talk?) 01:18, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

1911 articles
Can I please add my voice to those above asking you to slow down on the 1911 articles. I realise that the end is in sight, and it's tempting just to take text directly from the 1911 encyclopedia. However, even when OCR errors are corrected and the articles are wikified, the fact remains that they are nearly 100 years out of date. Please take the time to look for contemporary information and bring the articles up-to-date, even if that means that we take a few weeks longer to complete the project. --OpenToppedBus - Talk to the driver 11:33, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Autoblocks
I checked the block log and I'm not seeing any autoblocks unless you posted your message at a different time from when I was on there. If you continue to be autoblocked I suggested the following:
- Visit the #wikipedia channel on IRC
- Advise you need an admin to unblock your IP due to a collateral damage autoblock
- If they don't know what that is refer them to this message
- The administrator should view WP:AUTOBLOCK for more info
- Then they should use the Admin unblock tool, enter your current IP in there and unblock as collateral damage
Again, my apologies for this, wish there was something more I can do but unblocking those IPs won't stop the autoblocking, it kindof has to be done at the time you're on and trying to edit. --Wgfinley 00:42, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Your RfA vote on User:PMA
Hi. The RfA on User:PMA has been shut prior to its conclusion because the confusing technical situation that led to him not still having adminship was resolved by a Wikimedia Steward not long ago, and his adminship was restored to him. You'll be pleased to know the RfA was unanimous: all two people who voted (you and me) supported him. :D - Mark 10:02, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Could you please stop posting factually incorrect articles like Lacroma? There is no "Austrian kingdom of Dalmatia" and hasn't been for more than eighty years. Please correct the information in your article, Kusma (討論) 06:16, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- It looks a lot better now that it is in Croatia, thank you for updating it so quickly! For towns in Central and Eastern Europe you should generally assume that the Britannica article is completely wrong, and not submit it without checking: all the borders have changed several times since 1911. Happy editing, Kusma (討論) 06:40, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, Siva1979/Archive 2, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 14:49, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
My RFA nomination
Hi Siva, sorry to decline the nomination. :( I really feel its too early currently, I'm not really experienced with Wikipedia yet. Give me more time and I will accept it in future, maybe in August. Thank you for having confidence in me of becoming a sysop. I've lack of talk edits (which I'm trying to work at) and I need to interact more with the community. I sincerely apologise. --Terence Ong 15:18, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Could you add me on MSN (if you have one), the link is on the top bar of the userpage. This is where I can discuss about any matters or have a chat. You may also find me on IRC. Send me an email if you wish. Thanks. --Terence Ong 15:21, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Small request
Siva1979, hi.
I noticed you've been putting articles from the 1911 Brittannica online. There are a couple of minor things, which, if you could do, that would be great. In Wikipedia, the main subject of articles doesn't go in ALL CAPS, and the article doesn't begin with a fragment, but with a complete sentence. People are just following you around making these basic corrections to each article - why not go ahead and format the articles in those repects when you create them? Thanks. -GTBacchus(talk) 17:35, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- It's not much inconvenience at all - I only noticed it because I was stub-sorting, and ran into quite a few of your new articles, all in a row. Thanks for helping to get those topics into Wikipedia! -GTBacchus(talk) 17:48, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

Thanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, and for welcoming me to the fold of administrators. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise and blocked a vandal (after I said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your voting on my RFA. It has finished with the result 88/14/9, and I am promoted. I am really overwhelmed with the amount of support I have got. With some of you we have edited many articles as a team, with some I had bitter arguments in the past, some of you I consider to be living legends of Wikipedia and some nicks I in my ignorance never heard before. I love you all and I am really grateful to you.
If you feel I can help you or Wikipedia as a human, as an editor or with my newly acquired cleaning tools, then just ask and I will be happy to assist. If you will feel that I do not live up to your expectation and renegade on my promises, please contact me. Maybe it was not a malice but just ignorance or a short temper. Thanks for editing a Newbie's first article
Hi. Thanks yesterday for popping in and formatting the article name in bold. I was making the article in steps i.e. I saved the text and sections, and then started going through checking the correct page references for links. Thanks to your edit, I found out that Wikipedia is able to recognise the link correctly even if the capitalisation of the first letter is different, so it got quicker to do the rest! I also found out about edit conflicts! As a newbie, it is reassuring to know that others are looking at my edits. Viv Hamilton 13:17, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
