[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Scotland in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charles I (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:30, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation for edits to Thomas Knyvett, 1st Baron Knyvet

[edit]

The genealogical link is incorrect. It is conflating two families. The Baron Berners family lived in the west of England in Westmoreland and the surrounding area. This Knyvet is located in Essex. Also, the two main biographical sources for the life of this Thomas Knyvett (d. 1622) are the History of Parliament article found here [1] and his entry in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography Online here [2]. Both state that Thomas Knyvett (d. 1622) died without having children. Bmb8af (talk) 15:34, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bmb8af: Thank you for the correction. I've removed the erroneous information. Please feel free to make additional edits as needed. Cheers. Smallus Editus (talk) 17:54, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

John Willoughby (disambiguation)

[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like John Willoughby (disambiguation) are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

James Shirley at St Albans School

[edit]

Hello Smallus Editus, you added James Shirley the the notable alumni list of St Albans School. He is listed in the article as a notable teacher, no indication he is a former student. I've reverted your edit. Feel free to re-add him if you can provide a citation confirming he attended as a student. Gab4gab (talk) 18:34, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gab4gab: Quite correct, my bad. I was thrown off by his portrait appearing in the alumni section. I've moved it to the teacher section. Thank you for the correction (and for being polite about it). Smallus Editus (talk) 14:28, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing the photo location. I noticed there was a photo file in the source but never chased down where it appeared. Gab4gab (talk) 15:50, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
