white wolf

Is the allusion to a white wolf a subsitute for homo sapien orientated sexual satisfaction? 211.132.60.108 (talk) 17:18, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

BAG Changes

Hello. You may remember, some time ago, joining the BAG under the trial "open membership" system. Based on a lack of opposition to a reversion of this trial, I have now decided to be bold and perform it. The BAG has returned to a system under which users must go through a short period of discussion (like RfA, but less formal) before being added to the group by either a 'crat or an existing member. At the moment, I have said that discussions should last for 10 days and that community noticeboards should be spammed to encourage participation in each request - evidently this is to avoid the "cabal" impression.

As you have already been a member for some time, you're likely to be an excellent candidate to apply to the group and I encourage you to do so. Alternatively, if you totally disagree with my changes and fail to see any merit in them at all, I'm hoping to take part in discussions on WT:BAG. Though I must ask now if I may - please don't revert me without a decent amount of discussion first. Thanks, and if you have any questions about what I've done, please leave me a message, send an email or chat on IRC. Martinp23 17:30, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Looking for opinion

Hi there. I've seen your name pop up frequently when I'm patrolling recent changes with Twinkle. Since you're probably encountered similar situations and are an admin, I'd like to get your take on something that happened recently. A couple of days ago, I reverted this edit by an anonymous user and dropped a low level vandal warning on their talk page here. A short time later I was going through my recent contributions and happened to check back at the talk page. My warning had been erased and my name was attached to stuff written by that anon. You can see it here. Hardly libelous stuff, but it really irked me that see that. I left a nasty message (with an "only warning" tag) about forging people's names to stuff they didn't write and erased the forgery. Yeah, I probably shouldn't have cussed, but I was really pissed off by what had happened. Should I instead have simply reported him via Advanced Reporting and Vetting or something? Is forging people's names worthy of a block? The IP address seems to also be used by a "real" editor as well. How could I have handled this better? Matt Deres (talk) 16:54, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Howdy, my wife and I have been doing new page patrol and wanted to check out the NPWatcher tool. We left our names at User:Martinp23/NPWatcher/Checkpage four or five days ago, and thought we might as well nag you (again, I fear the previous poke was lost in the vandalism). Your User:Snowolf/Admin tools page is amazing, especially the warn templates and the "live" summaries. We can finally use the user warn templates sanely, now that we understand the layout (and can hover easily). The backlog is either inspiring or frightening, but I guess there's plenty to do. I've almost got a system for NP patrol, but I want to see how the tool works. We rarely use AWB for typos anymore, but it was very instructive to see how it works. I'm watching this talk page, so I went ahead and did the approval. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Can we sort this out to give the candidate a fair run? Best that we revert to 3 supports and no other comments. Pedro :  Chat  23:02, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Khalistan

The version of Khalistan I added was actually an original.

The information I added about Khalistan terrorism has always been deleted but never replaced, hence I got fed up, so I changed much of the biased religious fundamentalist dis-information back to the original version.

I would include the relative information from US State Department and UK Home Office with respect to International terrorism and would urge you not to support international religious fundamentalist based terrorism by allowing terrorists and/or there relatives to have a free print propaganda on wikipedia. Open Rights Group

I see that 129.11.218.236 (clarence-dock-pc218-236.student-halls.leeds.ac.uk) has made the Rufus Pollock -> Rufus Bollock change twice 1 and 2 and that this seem to a hall of residence IP. Do you think it would be worth having a word with someone at Leeds to see if they know the person and change havea friendly chat with them about acting like a adult? Z303 (talk) 19:00, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

How is it nonconstructive

Snowolf, How are the changes I made to governor Sebelius' home page not constructive? They are no less constructive than any news reported about Britney Spears or O.J. Simpson. Perhaps I should not have made an open request for additional information. That does not explain why you would delete information that was directly supported by facts. In effect, you are censoring current news, which is unacceptable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.116.173.152 (talk) 19:04, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

You respond to people who write horrible things about you, but not to my comments, which were far more respectful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.116.173.152 (talkcontribs) 19:23, 4 Feb 2008
My apologies, it wasn't meant as disrespect. Of course your comment wasn't disrespectful in any way. To answer your question, that edit is indeed unhelpful, please source it, I see no allusion to that in the fox link. Snowolf How can I help? 19:30, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
The sentence in the fox link, "The site [John Sebelius' website] describes, 'Don't Drop the Soap' as a game 'Where no one playing enters through the front door!'" alludes to anal sex. I hate to discuss sexual practices since I have no idea how old you are or your about your views towards sex, but have you ever heard the term "back door sex"? It is a slang term for anal sex in both the heterosexual and homosexual communities. The wikipedia page Back door states the term "Backdoor is slang for the anus." If no one playing enters through the front door, then they would have to enter through a back door, which wikipedia acknowledges is a slang term for the anus. No other connotation would make sense if you consider the prison gates that convicts pass through to enter the prison as front doors.
While I am at it, the term "Don't Drop the Soap" is a joke about people in prison who bend over, making themselves prone to being approached from behind and (use your imagination about back doors). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.116.173.152 (talkcontribs) 19:44, 4 Feb 2008
No problem, I did understood the double entendre, however since it's a biography of a living person, we need a source for it rather then two of us discussing it. I mean a source which says that that game's title is a double entendre and so on. Snowolf How can I help? 19:57, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Snowolf, I need your help, this person with this IP address 68.49.6.221, keeps on vandalizing the NPOV "criticism", the article is "ya libnan"...his last response to me was ..."perhaps you should move to a country with a free press, like Lebanon. we the press must protect some sources to keep them from being assassinated by your regime"..I wrote back that his manner was uncilivized..

Please check this out.

the problem is , I write that "ya libnan" does not cite its sources and I prove this with references, user 68.49.6.221 says that they do and he/she cannot establish any proof70.80.188.30 (talk) 00:33, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Page Editing

You have got to know that some 'flc fans' bully each other. That's why the person who runs the site flcnyc.co.uk should not put her/his site as a prominent flc site. It neglects the other flc fan sites. DiFontaine.net has been underplayed by 'the others' a lot while they were supporting DiFontaine.net last year and had been their 'friends' since 2003. Hope you can solve this problem. Cheers —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anonynonymous (talkcontribs) 21:35, 1 Feb 2008

  • I am rather bemused by this comment, I am not aware of "'flc fans' bully[ing] each other" at all. The only evidence I have seen that comes close to this is the attempt to smear one of the sites in the links section of the FLC page by claiming it had malicious code. And as far as I'm aware that's the closest there has been to "bullying" and it was by the person who posted this comment *shrugs*. And for the record, it's not "person who runs the site flcnyc.co.uk" who is putting in the link to that page, it is me. I have no knowledge of who runs the site or any of the powerplays that this comment suggests have been going on. I merely put a link to what I thought was the best fan site out there in accordance to wikipedia's guidelines about fan sites. Lastly, I want to apologise to Snowolf for this bizarre state of affairs invading his talk page. Hopefully it can be resolved amicablly without any need for further admin action. I'm thinking I'm going to rewrite the article from scratch anyway, so hopefully that will take care of most of the issues. Again, apologies to Snowolf. --Stenun (talk) 18:50, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I have done extensive work bringing this article up to GA status and was about to renominate it after answering all of a GA reviewers concerns but I am having a problem with two editors trying to add the same thing. Divius and Sigpig have made the same edits to the page that have twice been reverted by a bot and twice by other editors. I have placed a nice message on their pages explaining why their edits can not be included and I would like to ask if you could please help keep an eye on this situation. Thanks. Vandalismo

Vote on Doczilla RfA

I noticed that you changed your support vote to oppose on the Doczilla RfA, and then later you appear to have struck the oppose. So, you now have a 'move to oppose' in the support list, but no oppose. I'm confused. Having read the queries raised by Phil, I'm wondering if you have ended up as support, oppose, neutral, abstain, or... well, I can't think of any other option off hand. Just curious. Jay*Jay (talk) 16:17, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

That's exactly what I was about to ask. Since Phil actually changed his position to support, you struck out your oppose vote but didn't strike out the "move to oppose", so it's a little confusing. Wryspy (talk) 01:42, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
