I'm a fashionista who loves tagging up people and companies all over the place. I enter links for MyFDB.com please check out this link if you're an admin looking here for a answer to my added links it explains why my edits of those should not be removed thanks!

Also read the reasons why it should not be used. 76.102.12.15 (talk) 21:00, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Adriana Lima ‎ do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Off2riorob (talk) 20:57, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Carine Roitfeld. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 21:02, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spam

[edit]

Please stop spamming, we only have to go along and remove them all. Off2riorob (talk) 21:06, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The links I am adding are not spam, period. They follow the External Links guidelines and should all be added back to the site until you can find a piece of the best practices WikiPedia admins and users are supposed to abide by. There needs to be some substance behind you removal like their is substance behind these links. They're added by experts and much of the credits are verified in this site by the person's representation or themselves. The fashion model directory is a much less accredited and accurate resource they they're on every one of these profiles with links to less, and more junky information.
What you need to consider is that it is our articles that are important to us, we are not a link station to advertise other peoples websites, we write our articles and cite the content, our desire or ambition is not to provide a load of links to other sites, thanks.Off2riorob (talk) 21:28, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly right I've considered and come to the conclusion that the information I'm linking to is going to be a big benefit to the overall knowledge in WikiPedia. The links follow the External Links guildlines set by WikiPedia. My links are no different than the links to IMDB are for the movie industry, this should be no different.
You have got me wrong, we are interested in our articles, please stay and help add content to them , the linking to outside article is not what wikipedia is for. I am of the personal opinion that someone who comes to wikipedia adding a single external link is spamming. We also have the enigma guideline, that we are allowed to use our common sense. Off2riorob (talk) 22:20, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is the resource not other peoples websites that link to it. Off2riorob (talk) 22:41, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
