Hello, SootySalamander! Welcome to Wikipedia! It appears that you are here to participate in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia's page for questions. You can also ask me by visiting my user talk page and leaving a message, or you can ask your question on this page by editing it and placing {{Help me}} before your question. Please make sure that you sign your messages on discussion pages, which is done by entering four tildes (~~~~) at the very end of it; this will automatically insert your username and the date. I also highly recommend that you review the advice for students page.

Before you create an article, make sure that you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one, please tell your instructor about creating one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know that the article is a subject of an educational assignment as well as aid your communication with them.

Hierochloe odorata Article Peer Review

[edit]

General Notes

- Article has clear section headings

- Flagged as "needs additional citations for verification" in 2009. May not be applicable.

- There are opportunities for the author to dig more into sections that were written previously by other users (i.e. the uses/traditions).

- Overall, needs more sources.

Ecology

- Noticed that the author consistently used Reference #9 in the first half of this section. There may be benefits to finding more sources that support each of those sentences.

- Repetition of species name. May be able to cut down and rephrase (i.e. in fifth sentence, change to "The associated plants are through to be major inhibitors of growth."

- May add a small section about primary predators. Could be in list format in a box outside of the primary text (may want to see if there's a template from another article to mimic).

- Hyperlink "Grammivores", define in the text, or replace with "herbivores"

- Split last sentence into two sentences: one about grazers (if not adding separate section) and about on the chemical Coumarin/other deterrents. May be able to add one or two more sentences about the effects of Coumarin or where it is produced in the plant.

Propagation

- Similarly to the Ecology section, Reference #12 is primarily used throughout this section. The author may benefit from including more sources.

- May want to revise the fourth sentence. Since it is short, it can potentially be combined with the third sentence. IC.Student (talk) 00:52, 10 April 2024 (UTC)IC.Student[reply]
