A tag has been placed on Ideas Merchant requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste 16:24, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I note that you've applied the ((hangon)) tag to Ideas Merchant. You may want to familiarize yourself with the material at Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest, WP:CORP and WP:Notable, which contain some of the criteria that an administrator will use when deciding whether or not to delete the page. Essentially, what will be required is independent third-party sources that assert the notability of the topic. These would be things like quotations from newspaper articles or magazine stories. If I can help, leave a note on my talk page. Accounting4Taste 16:37, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted the page. The problem with it is that there was no explanation as to why the company is notable; sources independent of the company are needed to verify that other people are writing about the company before writing about it appears in Wikipedia. Read WP:N, WP:CORP and WP:V for more information; the main point is, if no other website or encyclopedia writes about it first, there's no way for Wikipedia's readers to check the information for themselves; more importantly, there would be no way to detect problems with the article (such as certain kinds of vandalism). --ais523 16:48, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, the recent edit you made to Easingwold has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks.   jj137 (talk) 23:12, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You may have had good intentions, Spencer, but I've deleted the FireLilyEvents.com link you attached to Civil Partnership Act 2004 because it violates WP:LINKSPAM. The link appears to be simply a commercial "wedding planner" site, and your wording in the link sounds like an advertisement for that company.Textorus (talk) 02:28, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page The Wedding Planner do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Road Wizard (talk) 02:22, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DaDaFest Artist of the Year requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. bonadea contributions talk 18:19, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Simon McKeown has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
