[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Futon. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 00:12, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Futon. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --DAJF (talk) 00:18, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Apologies. I had mistakenly allowed a colleague with better HTML skills to use my login. Won't happen again.--Staceydfla (talk) 18:54, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
I would also like to add this point: I am in total agreement with my colleague that the addition to the futon article that you removed had not been promotional, but factual, as evidenced by the citations listed. All too often, the contributions of women in business, engineering and other fields are trivialized, erased and forgotten by time. By noting the real and documented contribution that Ms. Pearl had made to what is now known as the western futon in the United States, we are properly acknowledging a historical fact. I would propose that a compromise would be to add a new Wiki page on the Western adapted futon, distinct from the original Japanese, and link the two pages, thus honoring the cultural heritage of what most Americans think of today as a futon.--Staceydfla (talk) 22:26, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Welcome!

[edit]I have reverted your addition of Tara Eden Pearl as a notable alumnus of the Hun School of Princeton. There is no source in the article for Hun School establishing her attendance there, there is no source in her article and I was unable to find any source regarding her attendance at the school in a search of Google / News / Archives. Please do not reinsert the entry in the article for the Hun School without a source from a reliable and verifiable source as required by Wikipedia policy. Alansohn (talk) 19:27, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
