[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Liona Boyd has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bfacebook\.com (links: http://www.facebook.com/people/liona-boyd/1439316738).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Liona Boyd do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Re: Posting of Liona Boyd promotional material
[edit]Please note that pasting in promotional material verbatim into Wikipedia articles, even if done by permission, usually goes against Wikipedia policies such as WP:NPOV and WP:PROMOTION. Also, please review and heed Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest guidelines, particularly when editing biographical articles on behalf of their subjects. Dl2000 (talk) 15:28, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
{{helpme}} All promotional passages have been removed from the article, and article is believed to be stating only facts with neutral point of view. Specific and detailed recommendations are welcome.
- I will review it and reply here soon (within about 15 minutes) Chzz ► 02:15, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- The main problems is notability; please see Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles. Does Ms Boyd meet those criteria? If so, you need to prove it, using a reliable and verifiable source.
- If you are not sure how to add such a source (or want to check if one is ok), please give the link here, below.
- There are other issues, but this is the most important - if notability cannot be established, then the article will be quickly deleted. We can look at the other issues later.
- Please reply below; no need for another helpme as I will be looking out for your reply here. Cheers, Chzz ► 02:20, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Whoops, looks like we crossed each other here. She's a very well known guitarist, so there's no question (imo) about sufficient notability. However, WP does NOT allow cut & paste copyrighted material, so I cut all of that out. You need to look for verifiable reliable sources, not just paste in entire sections from her website bio. - No worries DoriSmith, was about to do same myself; I'm just trying to work through the issues one at a time. If we can find an RS to establish N, that'll be a good start; then I'll try to help Stanster69 to get the article into shape :-) Thanks for your help, Chzz ► 02:46, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- With an artist of her stature, that shouldn't be a problem; between Google Books, Google Scholar, and Google News, there's easily a few hundred possible sources (also, note that the article itself has been around over 5 years). With that wealth, and your help, it should be a FA in no time, right? Dori ❦ (Talk ❖ Contribs ❖ Review) ❦ 03:04, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sure; in no time at all :-) Chzz ► 03:09, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
