Re: Mike Filsaime
[edit]The article was filled with sentences such as:
- "Mike Filsaime is multi-faceted person in the arena of Internet Marketing today..."
- "One cannot deny another important role he plays as a shrewd business man."
- "No doubt Mike had some method and magic to teach and train the people in the way that “sticks”."
- "... he has become an inspirational brand in Internet Marketing today."
- "With his calibre, his vision doesn’t look far away."
That's pretty blatant advertising by any definition. ... discospinster talk 23:48, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
RE: Too many power-happy editors here!
[edit]Hello StephenHenderson, I appreciate that you're willing to improve your writing to get your articles accepted on Wikipedia. However note that creating new articles is not the only way to contribute on Wikipedia, you can edit and improve existing articles so you get a hang of encyclopedic writing. Here is my clarification to some of your concerns:
- Power-happy editors: Andyjsmith has clarified in his talk page that he is not an administrator, and so doesn't have the power to delete articles.
- Industry familiarity: Ewen Chia and Mike Filsaime were deleted for reasons of advertisement style of writing, not because of their industrial affiliations.
Have you gone through Wikipedia:Your first article? You can use Step 6: Consider creating the article first in your user space. As a registered user, you have your own user space. You can start your new article there, on a subpage; you can get it in shape, take your time, ask other editors to help work on it, and only move it into the "live" Wikipedia once it is ready to go.
You can create temporary subpages User:StephenHenderson/Ewen Chia and User:StephenHenderson/Mike Filsaime, but make sure you avoid the clauses of Wikipedia:Subpages#Disallowed uses. Jay (talk) 10:03, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
