[edit]Hello, I'm XtraJovial. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Tokyu 8500 series, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. XtraJovial (talk • contribs) 16:52, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Please don't include material that is based solely on individually published photographs, videos, or forum discussion posts; these are not reliable sources and should not be included on Wikipedia, and material that is supported by such sources could be considered original research if no reliable sources exist for them. Issues regarding sourcing and original research are very prevalent on train-related articles, and we should be trying to mitigate the sourcing issue. Thank you. [edit]Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Tokyo Metro 05 series, you may be blocked from editing. XtraJovial (talk • contribs) 19:14, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi XtraJovial, thank you for contacting me.
- Initially I wanted to cite Grafik Perjalanan Kereta Api/Train Travel Charts (GAPEKA) book however it doesn't specify the specific EMU type as the stocks are almost always swapped on a day-to-day basis despite them carrying the same schedule number on the books.
- I don't think it is that necessary to provide source for such miniscular information, you see even the other routes on the Tokyo Metro 05 does not even include citations, even on the Indonesian Wikipedia, the routes I added wasn't sourced either.
- It's all common sense, I don't think we should bloat the infobox with too much unecessary citations.
- Also not to mention that searching a good reliable source for Indonesian railway stuff in-depth is rather rate, except ReDigest.
- Sincerely, SugiyonoWongTegal (talk) 10:19, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- If no reliable sources exist for the material you're adding, you are adding original research, and that is a violation of Wikipedia's no original research policy and potentially its verifiability policy as well. Unsourced content on a foreign-language Wikipedia does not excuse unsourced content on the English Wikipedia. Citing reliable sources is primarily for the benefit of the reader so they can verify the material included in an article. XtraJovial (talk • contribs) 13:48, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
