Long shot
[edit]I see you're editing Neil McCorkell, which is great as I could really do with some help expanding his article. I understand this might be a long shot, but you wouldn't happen to have any books which mention him, particularly the Hampshire Cricket Handbook of 1952? Howzat?Out!Out!Out! Unfortunately not, however i am aware of someone who may have a copy. I'll ask and let you know. BTW what do want to know? My wife is Neil's neice.
- Thanks for responding. Well you probably noticed the article abruptly stops after 1946. Two seasons later in 1948, Neil only made 14 appearances (having up to then made 25-30 per season) and I'm struggling to find out the reason for this: was he injured or otherwise engaged? My hunch is the Hampshire Handbook might shed some light on why Neil played so few matches that season. I'm looking to go into some depth about his career, but I'm stumped at the moment regarding that detail! For such a prolific county cricketer, Neil is covered in surpisingly few publications. If you'd be able to find out why he was somewhat absent that season, and perhaps a small note I can add about what he went onto do in SA. Many thanks for your help. Howzat?Out!Out!Out! Some additional information. Neil broke a finger in the 1948 season which curtailed his appearances. Secondly on leaving the county he emigrated to SA where he became cricket coach at a school. I've updated Neil's page with this information.
- Thanks again for that info. I have a feeling the picture in his profile box will be deleted due to some copyright law. I'm working on a few other projects on here at the moment (mostly about the Minor Counties combined cricket team), so I'll finish Neil's article over the coming weeks. Did you see this? yes and will be sending Neil a copy. The orginal paper which he is reading was sent to SA by my wife.
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Summers. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Summers~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
