I have made my comments on the Big Ditch page. While you indicate that you would love to see verifiable information, you make it pretty clear in your post that you think these records are silly. We do not. In fact, I discovered the changes by getting an email from a runner in Hawaii who wondered where they had gone. He is planning to challenge one of the records himself, and also wanted to show them to his friends. While I am in the unfortunate position of being one of the record holders, and therefore may be accused of having a conflict of interest, others are also involved whose achievements are very noteworthy.Hyperphil 18:17, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Hyperphil[reply]

Criteria for semi-protection and Michaelas10

[edit]

I note from Michaelas10 you were peeved by his decline of your request to semi-protect the Jazz page. I am just writing this note to you to say I totally agree with you. If his criteria for declining such requests are actual policy it is ludicrous. He knocked back 4 of my requests which are obvious candidates for protection. See this [1] post to Michaelas10 talk page where I have more details. I am now going through the hard work of actually supplying diffs to show how the vandalism is real bad on the pages I am talking about. So far I have managed to get another admin to do the protection on one of the pages. So you could just try to have Jazz protected again if it still seems to be a problem.

Ttguy 10:27, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Jazz is currently semi-protected, thanks to your efforts. TK421 19:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
TK421- you might be interested in putting in your two cents worth on this discussion. Someone else feels the semi-protection policy could do with clarification to make it less arbitrary. Ttguy 22:07, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The wizard of Oz

[edit]

I am curious as to why you removed these two errors. They both refer to "that insect" a.k.a. "The Jitterbug". It was originally part of the script. The Jitterbug was a creature that would make you dance to exhaustion. Hence, The Wicked Witch say: "...they'll give you no trouble, I'll promise you that, I've sent a little insect on ahead to take the fight out of them"

The same thing goes for the weapons that are carried. As the Jitterbug scene was edited out, there was no use for these items. They just sort of get forgotten about, rather than having to re-shoot that scene.

I guess I wouldn't consider those "Errors." They weren't mistakes or accidents, but the result of an editorial decision. Honestly, I'm not sure an "Errors" section even belongs in a film article. This isn't Nitpickers [2].
I am familiar with the Jitterbug scene, and it is noteworthy. Perhaps the Wicked Witch's line, "I've sent a little insect on ahead to take the fight out of them," and the butterfly net and pesticide bug sprayer can be worked into the article elsewhere. They are interesting references to the deleted scene. TK421 19:12, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spoiler tags

[edit]

I've been trying to tell people that they should put spoiler tags where they think they belong, but I might as well have been shouting down a well. It's very depressing. All they seem to want to do is moan. --Tony Sidaway 05:58, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Harry S. Truman

[edit]

The first two edits that you made to Harry S. Truman, line 1 and line 34, were incorrect. The quotes were around the period:

Please do not remove the period "." after Truman's middle initial without reading the entire article and discussing the change on the Talk page first.
