The speedy in speedy deletion.

[edit]

The speedy in speedy deletion refers to the speed of making the decision and not to the amount of time after an article's creation. You should give an article a chance to grow before tagging it. If this is no longer in the policy I will fight to put it back in. For a variety of reasons many people do not write an entire article before saving. Personally, I like to save often when creating a new article and sometime my schedule forces me to quit and come back a few days later. --Gbleem 10:49, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rockingham City

[edit]

Hello there Tamatisk. I didn't have time to complete the Rockingham City article before you read it. However, if you view it now, I'm sure that you'll find that it has been lengthened with facts and history. Thanks. Tuddy

Saint John and Saint James

[edit]

Re the AfD, I've put on there a couple of suggestions as to how the article might be improved. Specifically, I think you have to be prepared to deal with things that have gone wrong at the school as well as those that have gone right. Obviously in the global scale of things this is never going to be an article of major significance but I think you've made a competent and literate start and I shouldn't like to see it deleted. Pride London

[edit]

Thanks for your message. Most of the inaccuracies seem to now have been deleted. However the history section remains unclear - there has been a pride march in London since the early seventies, but it has been organised by a diverse range of inidividuals and organisations over the years. "Pride London" has only exisited since 2003. Its been the "fun" of pride events in London to have so many different names... When we have time we can start to edit that section together to give a fuller and more accurate history - but it will probably have to be after this year's event! ;0) Truthmonkey 10:50, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tamatisk, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Natgeologo.gif) was found at the following location: User:Tamatisk. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:48, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Whiskeyecho.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Whiskeyecho.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:27, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Lightning Bear

[edit]

I have nominated Lightning Bear, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lightning Bear. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:P3130031.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:P3130031.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:53, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Jlynnc.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jlynnc.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:53, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Survey

[edit]

Hi Tamatisk!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you!
