History of civilizations

[edit]

Hi. Nice idea, but civilization is a much newer thing than your draft suggests. If you read the linked article, it says "is any complex society characterized by urban development, social stratification, symbolic communication forms (typically, writing systems) and a perceived separation from and domination over the natural environment, and social domination by cultural elite." So its history only goes back a few thousand years. Doug Weller talk 15:29, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of History of civilization

[edit]

Hello Techno Tron15,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged History of civilization for deletion in response to your request.

If you didn't intend to make such a request and don't want the article to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Your draft article, Draft:History of Civilization

[edit]

Hello, Techno Tron15. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "History of Civilization".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Sam Sailor 17:33, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2020

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to 2020, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember that Wikipedia is a widely used reference tool, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the sandbox instead. Thank you. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 09:15, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if this comes across wrong, but which edit was a joke edit? Techno Tron15 (talk) 13:07, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh do you mean the Artemis citation? If so, I forgot to update the year, which I'll do in a bit. Techno Tron15 (talk) 13:09, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, it was this edit. It seemed to be a parody of my previous importance tag, where I tagged a WHO announcement of an epidemic. They are announcing a fact, and it is the fact that might be important. Here, Iraq is announcing an intention, which might be important. If unimportant, that is not a valid reason. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 15:32, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the parody tag: I didn't know how to enter the tag so I copied yours, for I didn't realize it had extra information attached. As for the events importance, there currently seem to be too many events for the Persian Gulf Crisis, and I've read that the resolution was but a non-binding statement of predicted intentions. But if this is incorrect, apologies, and I will remove the tag Techno Tron15 (talk) 16:20, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No need; the tag was already removed. May I suggest starting a new discussion or joining an existing one on Talk:2020 in regard the excess (in both of our opinions) entries. You might also want to read WP:TALK in regard reply conventions. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 17:58, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
