Nonsense of J Gordon Melton
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on J Gordon Melton, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because J Gordon Melton provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting J Gordon Melton, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Marjorie Spock, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://waldorf2.intercast-media.com/2008/02/marjorie_spock_rachel_carson_e.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:01, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Marjorie Spock
[edit]A tag has been placed on Marjorie Spock requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Toon(talk) 19:00, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Theosopher, with regard to your note at Talk:Marjorie Spock, it is important to note that altering text does not solve copyright concerns. Altering work constitutes derivative work, which is still covered by the copyright of the original text, and can't be used without permission from the author (or copyright holder, should they differ). In order to have an article on Marjorie Spock (from a copyright point of view), we will need a completely new article; we can't use an altered version of someone else's work without permission.
- Aside from the copyright concerns, subjects of articles need to meet our notability guidelines for people, or the general notability guideline. Has the subject been covered in-depth by multiple reliable sources? If the subject doesn't pass these guidelines, the article will probably be deleted. If you have any questions, post them here and I'll do my best to help. – Toon(talk) 20:16, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Don't add red wikilinks to non-existent articles
[edit]Please don't add any more wikilinks to non-existent articles, even if you plan to write an article later. First, the new article needs to stand on its own for notability and proper sourcing. Then if the article remains you can search Wikipedia to find all the articles where that person is mentioned and add the links at that time. Thanks. --EPadmirateur (talk) 21:05, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Witzenmann
[edit]I appreciate your work to bring more content to this article. A few concerns:
- We want to aim to bring the most significant aspects of a biography.
- We want the material to be verifiable and cited to sources. Hearsay is definitely not appropriate. Can you provide the sources from which you have been working (a biography of Witzenmann, for example)? This will bolster the article's quality. hgilbert (talk) 12:27, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Friedemann Schwarzkopf
[edit]A tag has been placed on Friedemann Schwarzkopf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion of Torin Finser
[edit]A tag has been placed on Torin Finser requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. [edit]Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Torin_Finser, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Notability of Massimo Scaligero
[edit]A tag has been placed on Massimo Scaligero requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 06:01, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
minor edits
[edit]A heads-up: On Wikipedia, the addition of a substantial addition of information is not usually marked as a minor edit; minor edits are adjustments to syntax, grammar or spelling, copy edits for style, etc.
I appreciate your efforts to make these articles more complete! hgilbert (talk) 12:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
What specifically are you referring to that I marked as a minor edit? Is it the structure of the Camphill Movement? I changed the structure of the text and added a few California, Vermont, Missouri. For those additions I won't mark as minor edit anymore, just the changes in syntax. I'm glad you appreciate my efforts. --Theosopher7 (talk) 14:44, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of True Botanica
[edit]A tag has been placed on True Botanica, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}

Proposed deletion of Thomas Nielsen
[edit]The article Thomas Nielsen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This is not an article, it's a CV -- and one the few listed books is from a vanity press. No prose with any real indication other than a single weasel-worded assertion of importance.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
