Date protocol
[edit]I am new to this but I note that you have made a change to the Edinburgh Academy page, removing the date reference. Can you tell me if there is a protocol on this? When should I reference a date and when not? (Tithon 22:01, 27 February 2006 (UTC))
Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers). The basic gist is that full dates should be linked, but solo year links don't provide any functionality to the encyclopedia and can be eliminated. --Cyde Weys 23:56, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Re: Geological things to do
[edit]Thanks for your comments - the links on my user page are just a selection of 'gaps' i have come across on my travels - I'm aware that soem of them are out of date in that theyre not redlinks any more, but thanks for sorting the redirects. I just can't seem to concentrate on one area at a time, but I shall get back to geology sooner or later... ::Supergolden:: 09:19, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited James Gordon (bishop of Jarrow), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charles Ritchie (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MfD nomination of User talk:Tithon/sub-page
[edit]User talk:Tithon/sub-page, a page which created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User talk:Tithon/sub-page and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User talk:Tithon/sub-page during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 03:48, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

[edit]You are cordially invited to the next Edinburgh Wiki Meetup Next: Thurs 5 May 2016, 6-8pm, National Library of Scotland, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1EW |
Hi, you are cordially invited to our next ScotWiki meetup.
The National Library of Scotland is extremely accessible via train for those travelling from outside the city, and via bus for Edinburgh residents. Its visitor centre offers food, drinks, and WiFi and should give us plenty of room to meet and have a chat after work!

Hopefully see you there, Stinglehammer (talk) 11:27, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
The article George F Terry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 21:22, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:The last protest singer.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:The last protest singer.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:50, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
