The 10,000 Challenge
Hi, I wondered if you'd be interested in launching Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge (India) in the new year based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea would be to make it an ongoing goal but have state contests along the way with prizes to fuel more production. If so I can help you set something up later in the month but would need somebody in India to run the contests, as I belive you've been doing anyway. This sort of thing thrives on passionate editors and India seems to have them more than most countries on here!♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:00, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
- Interesting idea. I'll check if I can join here. --Tito Dutta (talk) 14:53, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Adoption
Hello Tito, I found your name on Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user adopters page. I am a new editor, a few edits under my belt, but looking for an experienced editor to help me speed-up my learning curve. As an example of the type of help I have needed in the past week, you can check out some of the teahouse questions I have asked:
And so on. Please let me know if you'd adopt me. Thanks, Amiwikieditor (talk) 14:24, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Amiwikieditor], looks good, before we start please tell me a few specific topics you want to learn (if you have something in mind). --Tito Dutta (talk) 14:49, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Currently, I am focused on improving some of the pages about India - so, I want to learn more about sectioning, when new sections should be added, how to improve content, etc. - I will do a lot of learning on my own in general by reading other pages on similar topics. But I also have a small OCD about seeing things in a consistent style - I see pages which use different styles for different authors - so, I really want to learn what the expected styling is so that I can improve articles from that perspective too.
- Right now, my biggest question is about Table number styles - but I am sure more questions will come along as I start learning the ropes.
- Finally, I am hoping that getting an adopter not only provides me with a guide, but a consistent contact with whom I can multiple discussions about Wikipedia over the next few months and years. Thank you for responding. Amiwikieditor (talk) 15:02, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, let's create a subpage and start discussing these topics one by one. What do you think? --Tito Dutta (talk) 15:03, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yes - umm, I don't know how to create a subpage or what a subpage is. The current article on which I want to fix these table formatting consistency issues is the Demographics of India page - and I had listed some TODOs that I am working on on my userpage - so, I can list those on the subpage. —Preceding undated comment added 15:13, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Regarding TWL mailing list subscription
Hi, thank you for your invaluable contributions to The Wikipedia Library as a coordinator. As you might know, it currently is a tough job to keep every coordinator updated on announcements, and to get in touch with fellow coordinators. We are beefing things up a notch for better communication among the coordinators of TWL. Flawless means of communication is crucial for the success of any team. Hence, we've decided it is essential for all coordinators (existing and new) to be subscribed to our mailing list wikipedia-librarylists.wikimedia.org. I've added your email ID (the one used for correspondence with TWL) to the subscription list of the mailing list. You are of course welcome to use a email ID of your preference unsubscribing this one. When subscribing, please make sure you include your Wikipedia username in the field "Your name (optional):" to help us keep track of subscriptions. Either way it is crucial that you are subscribed to the list.
You can change your preferences by logging into the interface here. You should have received a welcome mail which contains the password to access your account in the mailing list.
Please contact me (User:UY Scuti), or Jake (User:Ocaasi) or Nikkimaria (User:Nikkimaria) if you have any questions/concerns/issues. Regards—UY Scuti Talk 17:40, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Titodutta. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
