Meetup in Bangalore
Hey Tito! I have recently moved to Bangalore. As I have seen, you are an active wikipedian from a long time;
1) Are any wiki meetups organised in Bangalore?
2) If yes, can you share the whereabouts?
3) I am quite a nooby editor. If not a meetup, can I maybe personally meet you sometime? I am unaware of other wikipedians.
Thank you!!

Hey, I'm not sure why you rejected this article for WAM. The rationale (Prose size (text only): 2010 B (328 words) "readable prose size"
) seems to be that the plain text would be less than the requisite 3,000 bytes if the article size were massively deflated (by almost half) by not counting all the formatting, cites and so on, but that doesn't seem to be what the rule says ({{tq|The article should be at least 3,000 bytes and at least 300 words in length. (exclude Infobox, template etc.)). I even pointed out a problem with the submission tool (here) that "300 words" is a much higher bar than 3,000 bytes for the majority of properly formatted articles but that the tool allowed articles that met either criterion: it was never pointed out to me that I had misunderstood the rule and that the plain text, without citations and formatting, had to be 3,000 bytes by itself.
If it's not too late, I could probably get most of the way to 3,000 bytes of plain text simply by formatting the lead as a proper summary of the body contents rather than as a one-sentence description (I actually avoided doing that with Nise and a bunch of my other WAM entries to avoid the appearance of artificially inflating articles that were actually too short). But I'd still like to clarify what was wrong to begin with.

Administrators' newsletter – December 2017
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2017).
- Following a request for comment, a new section has been added to the username policy which disallows usernames containing emoji, emoticons or otherwise "decorative" usernames, and usernames that use any non-language symbols. Administrators should discuss issues related to these types of usernames before blocking.
- Wikimedians are now invited to vote on the proposals in the 2017 Community Wishlist Survey on Meta Wiki until 10 December 2017. In particular, there is a section of the survey regarding new tools for administrators and for anti-harassment.
- A new function is available to edit filter managers which can be used to store matches from regular expressions.
- Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is open until Sunday 23:59, 10 December 2017 (UTC). There are 12 candidates running for 8 vacant seats.
- Over the last few months, several users have reported backlogs that require administrator attention at WP:ANI, with the most common backlogs showing up on WP:SPI, WP:AIV and WP:RFPP. It is requested that all administrators take some time during this month to help clear backlogs wherever possible. It should be noted that AIV reports are not always valid; however, they still need to be cleared, which may include needing to remind users on what qualifies as vandalism.
- The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative is conducting a survey for English Wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works (i.e. which problems it deals with well and which problems it struggles with). If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be emailed to you via Special:EmailUser.

Bengali billionaires
Can you (and your stalkers such as Dwaipayanc) have a look at User talk:Sitush#Indian private universities? I am curious how the wealth of Satyam Roy Chowdhury and Goutam Roy Chowdhury (owners of the Techno India University) compares with the other billionaires listed at Forbes list of Indian billionaires. The last one on this list based in Kolkata is Sanjiv Goenka at #77. Solomon7968 13:10, 19 December 2017 (UTC)

Adoption!
Hi Titodutta, I saw you're looking for adoptees! I'm new here and super excited about contributing more. Mostly to pages relating to Maker culture, although I have really far-reaching interests beyond that. I'm not really sure what adoption should look like, but I'd be happy to talk about it, if you're down! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spaceinflator (talk • contribs) 16:41, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- I'd be happy to help you. Please feel free to ask questions, whenever you need. --Tito Dutta (talk) 16:55, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! I do have one question already: The first article I wrote included a header labelling it as an AFC submission, and it was published as a draft. Since then, that header hasn't showed up on articles I've started, and they've been published directly. Why? Am I supposed to be adding that header to every new article I write? Or am I now allowed to publish articles directly without first posting as drafts? Sorry if this is covered elsewhere and I've missed it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spaceinflator (talk • contribs) 17:03, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, draft namespace contain articles which are not yet ready to go on mainspace. Please read Wikipedia:Drafts. The recent article you have created is already on mainspace Wevolver, it does not need any draft or AFC tag, as it is on mainspace. I'll make some formatting changes in this article, please note the changes.
One more thing: when we discuss on talk pages, such as this discussion, we add ~~~~ at the end of a post, which automatically adds your username, talk page link, with a timestamp. Please see WP:SIG. I do hope it helps. --Tito Dutta (talk) 17:11, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- I have made some changes, please add relevant categories. Regards. --Tito Dutta (talk) 17:15, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- This is so helpful, thank you. Your changes make a lot of sense and I'll follow their example. After reading through Wikipedia:Drafts, I think I'm probably autoconfirmed. Does that mean it's okay for me to push articles straight to mainspace? If I have a draft I've already written and is pending review, can I push that to mainspace myself? (of course after making sure it's formatted properly, etc.) Also, is this standard to indent after each reply? Spaceinflator (talk) 17:27, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, yes are an autoconfirmed user. You may know about this right WP:AUTOC. Draftspace has nothing to do with this particular right. If an article is ready, it should go on the mainspace, if an article requires further development, it may be improved as a draft.
As you have already submitted the article for review (review helps to make a draft better, and ready for mainspace), please wait for sometime. Regards. --Tito Dutta (talk) 17:35, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
