Speedy deletion nomination of Clash with DD
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Clash with DD, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I deleted your article because
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. You listed the company's social media, but they are not independent third-party sources. Note also that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting
- I can't see any indication that it actually meets the notability guidelines linked above, you have given no evidence that this isn't just another of the non-notable apps or YouTube channels we are bombarded with every day
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: well known organization... known for its all round contribution in the IT sector... leading Android app... exclusively available on the Amazon playstore... creative ideas to bring about a change in the world... best personalitiesand that's just the first paragraph, complete with sales pitch!
- The organization has given me full authority to contribute it to wikipedia— not surprising when it's your own company. You are not allowed to advertise here, and you should not edit articles in which you have a conflict of interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
- Since it is your company, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you have a financial interest in the company you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Tiven2240. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Tiven2240|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Clash with DD
[edit]- You posted the page to Wikipedia:Clash with DD, which was clearly not the right place for it. When you did so, you used an edit summary which said "...it is not to be into mainspace", which at first I took as meaning that you were deliberately using Wikipedia space to hold a page which you knew was unsuitable for mainspace, so I was going to delete it. However, I then decided that more probably that was a mistake (perhaps a typo for "...it is now to be into mainspace", so I moved it to Clash with DD. Please tell me if I was wrong.
- You should not be posting an article on this subject, as doing so is contrary to the conflict of interest guidelines. You should instead have submitted it as an "article for creation" for review by an independent editor. Please don't attempt to put any page on a subject on which you have a conflict of interest into article space again.
- The subject does not come within a thousand miles of satisfying Wikipedia's notability guidelines. I am therefore going to propose it for deletion. You will be free to contest the proposal by removing the template from the article, but if you do so the article will go to a deletion discussion, where I have little doubt it will be deleted anyway, so the only effect of your contesting the proposal will virtually certainly be to take up the time of editors in discussion which will make no difference to what happens to the article. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:23, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Promotional and unsourced editing
[edit]I was interested to see this edit.
- Such blatantly promotional content ("Holy cross high school is well known for its excellent teaching staff", "delivers it's [sic] students the best of its ability", "working continuously to provide knowledge to its students", "nurturing a large number of students", "very helpful in shaping the future of its students", "The whole teaching staff is well trained and upgraded to its max to give the students the best of its contents" etc etc) is totally inappropriate in an article, and inconsistent with Wikipedia policy. Please don't continue to add promotional content to Wikipedia: doing so may lead to being blocked from editing.
- You probably noticed that one of the reasons I gave for deletion was that the content was unsourced. Wikipedia policy is that if unsourced content is challenged and removed, it must not be restored without providing references to reliable sources. Nomination of Clash with DD for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Clash with DD is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clash with DD until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:50, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Michael High School, Kurla. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! A few words of advice
[edit]If you are hoping for the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clash with DD to conclude with the article being kept, then the most effective way of trying to achieve that is to give reasons why the subject of the article satisfies Wikipedia's notability guideline. Even if you sincerely believe that I am lying in saying that I think the article should be deleted because it does not do so, and that really my secret motive is a wish to "suppress the new editors", the administrator who assesses the discussion is unlikely to give any weight to that suggestion: generally speaking, arguments based on attacking other editors and accusing them of evil motives are not taken note of. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:52, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
Some other unrelated advice - "Admininstrator Review" is where we review admin, it is not where editors go to be reviewed by admin. FYI. Sergecross73 msg me 14:46, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Tiven2240, Yes, I do have a problem with your proposed deletion. As your own template states "All biographies of living people created after March 2010 must have at least one reference to a reliable source." Have you actually looked at the article? It fully satisfies that criteria. I fail to understand why the article should be deleted and think you should undo your nomination. Poliocretes (talk) 09:52, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Poliocretes Thanks for reaching out to me. As regarding your article it has to be briefly expanded as per Wikipedia Terms and conditions to must cite it to more reliable source with more content in it . Please do the same so I can give a reason to be it on Wikipedia or it shall be contested for deletion— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiven2240 (talk • contribs) 10:02, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Tiven2240, Poliocretes is correct - BLPPROD does not apply where there is a source and I have removed the prod tag. Tagging a recently created stub with "one source" is also a bit premature, and I have noticed a few other problematic taggings from today. Maybe you could slow down a bit and read up on what the relevant policies say? Thanks, --bonadea contributions talk 11:48, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
The article a) meets notability, b) is not incomprehensible, and c) not overly detailed. On the first point, he's played in at least one professional football game which is a requirement for notability, also just do a Google search. On the second, you never cared to explain how it was remotely incomprehensible. Lastly, it's not even remotely overly detailed. The information given are facts about the seasons he played. That's it, nothing more. I recommend you at least read articles before you tag them, or at least give examples of the issues. Something you failed to do. - Tiven2240, you have been asked to stop doing page curation, and I'm another admin supporting that request. While I acknowledge your enthusiasm and your willingness to help, page curation requires significantly more experience than you currently possess - reviewing new pages incorrectly (like tagging them wrongly, for example), can do harm to the project by discouraging and scaring away newcomers. And it's not simply a matter of studying how to use the tool, but of having a good understanding of a large number of relevant Wikipedia policies, and you clearly do not yet have that understanding. Soon, there will be a technical change made to prevent inexperienced editors like you using the Page Curation tool until they apply for and are granted the appropriate user right, but until that happens we have to rely on people stopping when asked. You don't seem to be willing to take that advice and stop, so I am now *telling* you - stop doing page curation, or you will be blocked from editing. [edit]Please stop making disruptive edits.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Stop moving your own draft to mainspace. It is nowhere ready to be a Wikipedia article, and you don't seem to pay any attention to the comments left by reviewers. bonadea contributions talk 08:59, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
The point of using the Articles for Creation process is that you get an editor who is experienced and understands Wikipedia policies to review the article - the creator of the AfC article does not move it her/himself but waits for the review. The issues pointed out in the most recent notices are not addressed so it is unlikely that the reviewer would accept the article, but that is for them to say. That's why you use that process after all. --bonadea contributions talk 09:05, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- bonadea I am waiting from a long time then too there is no response so what should I do Tiven gonsalves 09:09, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- It has been five days since the draft was most recently rejected and you resubmitted it. The notice at the top clearly says that the process can take two or three weeks. You have also received comments from several different editors on your draft, with suggestions for improvements, most recently two days ago. Instead of circumventing the process you might try to address those issues. Again, if the draft is reviewed as it currently looks it will probably not be accepted since it does not show why the movie meets WP:NFILM, and also because it is confusing and difficult to understand. --bonadea contributions talk 09:18, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

- Actually, I must apologise for an error in my message above, as I see the incorrect BLP PROD was actually before I issued my previous warning - I have struck that part of the message. But you did continue to perform Page Curation, as seen here. That specific example is not itself problematic, but your inexperience means we really can't have you doing these things yet - and you really should not be offering advice to new editors while you are still a new editor yourself. Please understand that nobody is against you. I'm certainly not - I just want to help you become the best Wikipedia editor you can, but that means helping you avoid the things you should not be doing yet and preventing you getting into more trouble later. I'll be happy to unblock you if you promise not to do any new page reviewing, do not use the Page Curation tool at all, do no new article tagging, and do not offer advice to newcomers while you do not have sufficient experience to do so. And yes, I think we can close that ANI section now - I'll go and do that as soon as I've posted this. Your signature
[edit]Hi Tiven2240. I saw your post at the Wikipedia Teahouse and noticed that you seem to have created a special signature for yourself. That's fine, but your signature does not contain any links to your user page or your user talk page as required by WP:SIGLINK. In addition, if you take another look at your post you'll notice that a Template:Unsigned was added to it with this edit by User:SignBot. That's because your signature is not being recognized by the Wikipedia software. My suggestion to you would be to take a look at WP:CUSTOMSIG and check if you accidentally did something to the signature's markup. You can also ask for specific advice at WP:VPT. It's quite possible that you just checked/unchecked the wrong box by mistake. A proper signature is important because it allows other editors to easily find out who made an edit and when, and then contact that person if necessary, so you should try and figure out what's wrong with yours asap. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:27, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

I have access to some academic sources at work (I am a linguist, although not an expert on Indian languages) and when I have the time I'll try to add some more sources to this article. I think the current references are adequate to show why there should be an article about the subject. I did some minor fixes to the article, linking "Marathi" to Marathi language (because the dialect is a variant of the language and not of the people ;-) ) and so on; like most other articles it could use some more work, but it's a good beginning I think! --bonadea contributions talk 12:42, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Bonadea: if u want any help in this matter on the marathi or hindi language or any indian topic feel free to contact me as I contribute to marathi and hindi version of wiki too and I won't hesitate to help.. --✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 14:15, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate that, but the point of what I wrote above seems to have been somewhat lost. We are writing an encyclopedia here and for articles about languages we use sources based on what experts say, and sources based on research, not our own experience. Hopefully you are aware of the distinction between being a speaker of a language and an expert on that language. Most native speakers of a language (any language) are not experts on it. --bonadea contributions talk 08:10, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Mother Teresa
[edit]Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Mother Teresa you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Tiven2240 -- Tiven2240 (talk) 17:40, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- Tiven2240, I'm afraid you don't understand how GA nominations work. The person who nominates a GA should not then go and open the review, as you have done here; nominators are not allowed to review their own nominations, and by opening the review you've blocked anyone else from reviewing the article. In order to fix this, I'm going to have to nominate the Talk:Mother Teresa/GA2 page for a speedy deletion. Please do not object to the speedy deletion; it really is necessary to get this page deleted, since a valid reviewer can't be found while the page still exists.
- You have also nominated the article for a Good Article Reassessment. This is completely out of process. A reassessment should not be done while a nomination is underway, as they both have the purpose of determining whether an article is of GA quality, but the reassessment is almost invariably of an article that is currently a GA. I am removing the GAR request, and will be doing a speedy deletion nomination of the community reassessment page, since it is not appropriate. Please find yourself a mentor to advise you how things work; it will help you avoid major errors in the future. Please also note that the Mother Teresa article will likely fail unless the sourcing is improved. In addition to the two "citation needed" templates, you recently tried to cite another Wikipedia as a source (by definition, Wikipedia is not a reliable source), and have also cited at least one blog. Blogs are typically not considered reliable sources; you'll want to acquaint yourself with proper sourcing methods if you wish to succeed in getting the article to GA status. Best of luck. - Hello Tiven2240! You evidently are new to Wikipedia and looking at your talk page posts on teahouse or on a bot's page I understand that you have a long time to make here before nominating GA article. Irrespective of those, GA nominations should be made by editors who have considerably edited the subject article. I see that you are not a major contributor to Mother Teresa, nor Arvind Kejriwal which you also nominated. I am simply going to revert your nominations to avoid editors waste their time in reviewing it and leave a dent of failed nomination. Happy editing. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 03:40, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Mother Teresa
[edit]The article Mother Teresa you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Mother Teresa for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Ways to improve Guru Nanak College (GTB nagar) Mumbai
[edit]Hi, I'm Teblick. Tiven2240, thanks for creating Guru Nanak College (GTB nagar) Mumbai!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This article needs more independent, reliable references. The only reference appears to be a personal evaluation of the college rather than a source with objective coverage.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Speedy deletion nomination of Phoebe Lin
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Phoebe Lin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
Abortion article video
[edit]Hi there, Tiven2240: I noticed that you placed a well-made video at the heading to the article on Abortion, which is several minutes long and has many words. While the video may contain only content from the article, I opened a new talk page discussion and also messaged frequent contributor user:Doc_James (sp?) that this video was added without talk page consensus, which is not normally recommended--- especially for a controversial subject like this. I hope this message finds you well. 208.76.28.70 (talk) 15:54, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:President Kovind.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:President Kovind.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 09:43, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
