If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. 98.248.32.178 (talk) 17:28, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've met the guy twice and spent all of maybe three hours in his presence. I don't think that exactly constitutes a conflict of interest here. I spoke with him for a while, saw his reel, and decided something needed to be written about him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toddwshaffer (talkcontribs) 17:31, 2009 August 7

Furthermore this is neutral. The one non-neutral piece of information that I had in there was calling the directors and producers he had worked with "America's Finest" and just changed that to "American" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toddwshaffer (talkcontribs) 17:34, 2009 August 7

And yet on Talk:Vance Lorenzini you claim to be close to him. Which is it? Either way, you've just lost cred. 98.248.32.178 (talk) 17:37, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Read the comments over there. You took "close" as an emotional. It's meant as a literal. I have easy access to him and his records. I'm meeting a lot of Hollywood types lately and found him to be an interesting character that is under-documented. I apologize for the confusion in all of this, but it's my first attempts at wiki-pedia-ing. Also, if you note the wikipedia "law" that you quoted to me. It -MAY- by a conflict of interest. That's not explicit. May means it may or may not. In this case, it's not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toddwshaffer (talkcontribs) 17:55, 2009 August 7
