Far Eastern University article

[edit]

Your recent edits to the Far Eastern University article have included edits which rely on a 1955 source that cannot substantiate claims that require citations for dates later than 1955, and have also included the addition of material and content not compliant with WP:NOT and WP:NPOV. Please review these particular Wikipedia guidelines instead of simply insisting on edits that not only violate the aforementioned policies but also do not conform to consensus prior to your edits. Insistence on your edits without addressing the concerns raised may no longer fall within the category of good faith edits but may very well constitute vandalism. It is recommended that you consult other similar articles for ideas on how to compose articles compliant with WP:NOT and WP:NPOV. Rmcsamson (talk) 05:37, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You removed a copyright violation tag [1] giving as a reason "use all the primary information to improve and avoid unnecessary notice in this article".

The site simply has financial information. It may be true, but the problem is that the article text is a copyright violation of a different page. It doesn't matter what page you cite. If Wikipedia takes material from a page that is protected by copyright is breaking international law. It is a crime. Take a look at the page http://iabfsandigan.multiply.com/journal/item/16/Far_Eastern_University_Overview. It has a copyright notice plainly listed at the bottom. There is no question that the material is copyrighted. Piano non troppo (talk) 07:08, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Far Eastern University - Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://iabfsandigan.multiply.com/journal/item/19/FEU-IABF_Profile, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Far Eastern University - Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:03, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whether you took the information from there or you and the other site both acquired elsewhere, the fact that it was previously published there proves that it did not originate here. Any time text has been previously published, we must verify permission according to the processes above. Without such verification, we cannot use it. To verify, you will need to identify the common source and demonstrate according to the procedures at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials that the material is licensed properly for our reproduction. Likewise, images that you have published here or on Commons that have been previously published will need verification. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:14, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not remove the copyvio template with responding to these issues. Doing so is likely to lead to your account being blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you have questions about the verification process, please let me know, and I will happy to help you through the process. Prior to verification, this text cannot be used. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:23, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Tamaraw.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating copyright policy by copying text into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to quote non-free text. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:26, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As I said above, I will be happy to help you if you need assistance with the verification process. Before the material is verified, this text cannot be used. I am watchlisting this talk page, so if you have questions about that process, I will see them here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:26, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the autoblock template, as you have not autoblocked. You have been blocked directly. You will have to follow the procedures above to request unblock, but I must note for any reviewing admins that you have professed to also be 120.28.80.203 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), here, who was cautioned about restoring this information and blocked several minutes before you did it again. You were already advised that verification was necessary while logged out. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:31, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

The Multiply link you're referring to is a blog site that coincidentally has the same information with the information provided by the contributor U247. But, it doesn't necessarily mean that the information posted in Wikipedia are based on that multiply site. The citations and primary sources were posted there on Unending247's version. I hope you see my point. We just want to make the people more informed correctly and the citations there are correct. Thanks

Decline reason:

Your block has been reset because you have edited while blocked under IP Account 120.28.82.156 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). A new block notice will be placed at the bottom of your page. To request unblocking, please craft a new request there. Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:03, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Another administrator will review your unblock request, but I will repeat what I said above before you removed the copyio template the second time (the first time you did so while logged out):
If you are the original copyright owner because you published it someplace else and they copied it from you, you must verify that before this can be used here. This has been explained to you above and at your IP talk page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:38, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block extended

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for block evasion and ongoing copyright concerns, placing previously published text on Wikipedia without verifying permission per process. Please stop. You are welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below. Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:04, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have offered above to help you with the verification procedure if you have difficulties. You have not requested help, and even though you've given no indication that you've sent verification for this text, I have checked to see if an e-mail verifying permission has arrived. There is no sign of one. Wikipedia welcomes contributions by everyone, but it does have policies that must be followed by anyone who wishes to contribute. The copyright policy is one of its key policies. Wikipedia is based in the United States and must conform to US law in matters of copyright concern. While many websites are comfortable hosting text illegally, Wikipedia is not among them; we take copyright concerns very seriously, and will block contributors who do not conform to our policies, sometimes permanently. There's no reason that this should have to happen. If you do have authority to place the text here, all you have to do is verify it. If you don't, you must rewrite the text completely in your own words. Wikipedia is happy to have the information, but not unless we can prove that our republishing it is not against United States' law.
It also is not permitted that you edit the project while blocked. While technically you may be able to do so, discovery will likely result in your block being reset, as indicated in our blocking policy at Wikipedia:Block#Evasion of blocks. In this particular case, I probably would not have reset your block if you had not resumed the behavior that had you blocked in the first place. Since you have been told under your first blocked IP address that you can't place this text in other pages on Wikipedia before verifying permission but have done so again, I have extended your block to 72 hours.
Since your block conditions have changed, I have declined your unblock above. If you believe this block is unjustified, I encourage you to request unblocking again, taking into account these new considerations. You may also need to convince an administrator who reviews that unblock request that you understand these policies and do not intend to try to circumvent them by restoring that duplicated text before the verification procedure is complete. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:12, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
