My RfA
[edit]Scobell302, thanks for your support on my request for adminship.
The final outcome was a robust 62/1/1, so I am now an administrator. If you ever have any questions about my actions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
CSD Criteria
[edit]Hey, I just wanted to tell you that CSD G4 only applies to XfD's, not prods or previous speedy deletions. I already deleted 51 worst offenders in WWE history because it was a bunch of nonsense, but it was not CSD G4, since it was speedy deleted previously. Thanks, and happy editing. hi
[edit]hi, you supported quite well User:Mike Rosoft who tryed to eliminate some poor vandals from my pages and the pages of some other ones. Thanks a lot. Do remember one: as a admin or what ever you can do this and this; as a good admin, who defend another users against attacks. you will reach very much (although, sometimes, you will be hated by the community). So choose. I did. If there is somebodey whom I can defend, I do. Good luck. -jkb- 23:21, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Newgatery updated
[edit]I have added that new bit of info and added more to WoW and tCv. Any more tips/suggestions? 68.39.174.238 02:48, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- BTW. What WAS the last edit of the Juche vandal? I wasn't paying that close attention to the ko vandals... 68.39.174.238 01:48, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Crossmr
[edit]I altered User:Crossmr to reflect the fact that he likes to engage in unilateral deletions of hard-won content. This fact is very relevant to dealing with him in the wikipedia community, as wikipedia pretty much exists to amass hard-won content. In other words, I did not use [[User::Crossmr]] for abuse; if he was insulted then he is offended by his own actions; my doctoring was warranted because *this behaviour is destructive*; and I did no blanking. So, please don't accuse me of doing these things. Personally, I find the impotent display of power (by [[User::Crossmr]], not you) to be anathema to the wiki concept. It certainly does not engender respect or community participation by people outside of the elite cabal. Come to think of it, neither does deleting most of several popular articles. 74.129.234.170 18:58, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Esperanza!
[edit]Welcome, Scobell302, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
RfA thanks
[edit]Hi Scobell302, and thanks for your participation at the recent RfA, which did not succeed. For those of you who expressed their support, your kind words and your trust are sincerely appreciated. For those who were opposed --especially those who offered their constructive criticism-- please accept this message as assurance that equally sincere efforts, aimed at enhancing the quality and accuracy of representations within the Wikipedia, will continue. Striving for improved collaboration and consensus will also continue, with all of your insights in mind, while applying NPOV ideals as fairly and reasonably as possible. Wikistress
[edit]Sorry that the vandals are getting to you, Scobell. I hope they don't stress you out too much! If you feel like you're being overwhelmed by the vandals, perhaps try on working on something else for a bit, where the vandals haven't yet reached, and just enjoy the encyclopedia. Good luck relaxing! -- Natalya 17:26, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Phaedriel impersonators
[edit]They're all coming from Internet for Learning IPs - the IP used for those accounts was 66.226.79.49 (talk · contribs), a school IP. --Neil McCarthy (Internet for Learning) 12:37, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Please review someone's malformed unblock request
[edit]Please note that UareterriblepeopleIcantevenmakeanappealorcommentaboutanything (talk · contribs) is trying to get unblocked but for some reason misformatted the unblock template and as a result it doesn't show up in the Requests for unblock category. Since I know that you answer unblock requests regularly, can you take a look at this user's unblock request and respond to it appropriately? Scobell302 00:10, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've responded accordingly. -- Netsnipe ► 13:53, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Re:Encyclopedist=NOVO-REI
[edit]Hi there, I saw on another user's talk page that you stated that I could be some incarnation or at least friend of Encyclopedist. I really see an err in that judgment, I actually opposed one of his admin requests, and I actually thought he should have received some type of punishment or sanction that wouldn't be (in my view) so lenient.
Yes, I admit that we do seem to have a lot in common, I noticed he was a historian or history buff - so I asked if he'd help me on my (long abandoned) Brazilian military project. If it is a coincedence that we speak the same languages, I fail to see it - Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world, and Portuguese is also. Also, considering we both enjoy Latin American history (I assume he does after viewing the Military history of Mexico article he worked on), I see us speaking the languages of the region to be a very strong advantage.
Lastly, I based my user page style on User:Durin's, I just changed the color a bit. I tried to edit constructively and utilize all criticisms to my advantage - I thought I was doing well, given I have tried to be the most civil in my conduct, and try to follow all guidelines to a "T," including edit summaries. I don't know what I may have done to connect myself to Encyclopedist, who was routinely vandalizing other people's user pages because he was angry with them.
I am sorry if I resemble him too much. Note that universities in Florida literally are the largest in the country, so us both attending Florida schools doesn't seem so rare. I am actually 30ish, and a commuter student who is returning to school after years of absence.
I have been away from the Wiki, but hope to return really soon - I hope you still don't think I am Encyclopedist.
