Information icon Hello, I'm Annh07. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Auto detailing have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Hi yeah I don’t think removing this link was necessary as it is relevant to the wiki and provides a lot more information on this subject, the blog it points to has actually a lot more informative information in it than the wiki so it is extremely relevant and this needs to be added back as it provides more information to the user Valets5190 (talk) 08:21, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You may contribute content to articles as long as it is cited from reliable sources (please read WP:RS). However, do not add external links to commercial websites, pages selling products or services, pages promoting a company... (please read WP:LINKSTOAVOID). Thank you. What makes this source non reliable exactly? And it points to the blog not the commercial side of the business and has lots of informative content that adds to the basic content in the wiki.
also not being funny but Wikipedia has pages with brands all over it so I really don’t see the issue, especially after looking at your above links there is no selling in the blog just informative content , no ads etc etc and the link pointed to a specific content directly related to the content in the wiki and as far as I can see in your link I have broken no rules Valets5190 (talk) 08:39, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
External links should not be in the text of an article unless being used as a reference, and formatted as such. It doesn't matter if the blog is actively selling something or not, it's still promotional. Do you have an association with the blog you linked to? 331dot (talk) 08:43, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t see how the link is promotional it was merely giving more information on the content ,also you will find that the only information writen on this subject will come from commercial sources so surely your going to have to include such information.
yes it is my blog which has all so been written in a non commercial manner. Valets5190 (talk) 08:49, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You must declare a conflict of interest. If you generate income with your blog, the Terms of Use require you to declare as a paid editor.
Every spammer thinks that what they do is helpful or informative. Wikipedia is not for merely giving information. If you think there is a role for link to your blog in the article, as either a reference(doubtful) or in an external link section, then you must make an edit request(click for instructions) on the talk page, not add it yourself. 331dot (talk) 12:45, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
