My mistake, sorry. :) ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 05:02, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is incorrect. Redirects are often appropriately categorized.
If the redirect is "printworthy", i.e. it is the only name of that distinct form that will appear in a list or category, then it should be categorized, just as for a normal page. If it's merely a redir to correct a mis-spelling, or a very similar alternate name, then we might wish to avoid duplication in a category and so don't categorize it alongside other redirs to this target, or even the target itself.
Note that we also have a range of tag templates specifically for redirs, which categorize redirs as "alternate names" etc. See {{R printworthy}}, {{R with possibilities}}, {{R alternate name}} etc.

Hi Vibhijain. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Perrukuppam pond, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion, proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. I've removed the speedy deletion tag on the article because it doesn't fall under any of the categories of A7. A7 only applies to individuals, animals, organizations, web content, not geographic locations. Inks.LWC (talk) 08:51, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling

Hi Vibhijain. I'm just letting you know that I have declined your CSD on World Islam Association WIA. This appears to be a woldwide organisation, therefore it might be notable. Please do some more research, and if you still think it is not notable, put a PROD on it instead. Happy editing! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:38, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did it, this article seems a WP:HOAX. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 10:45, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Livingstone Primary School, Melbourne, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:47, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You've misunderstood the consensus: neither Livingston Primary School is notable. The consensus was clearly to redirect both. No one in the deletion discussion mentioned anything about keeping either school. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:50, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined for Celia Graham

Hi. Just to let you know that I have declined the speedy deletion of Celia Graham. A7 is where there is no credible assertion of notability; in this instance the claim is that she was the lead in a couple of major musicals. Granted, these could easilyt be amateur productions, not necessarily West End/Broadway productions, but the assertion is there.

In instances like this, where there is assertion but no references, it is better to tag it for PRODBLP and give the editor the chance to add references. I've tagged it, so hopefully the article will get corrected. Stephen! Coming... 21:24, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

G12 speedy deletions

Hi, in cases of copyright infringement could you please make sure you check the source website for a statement releasing the content under CC-BY-SA and GFDL? In the specific case I'm referring to, Underprivileged Community Life In the Present Culture, the author added such a notice to his website after I added a G12 tag to the article, thus making it ineligible for speedy deletion under G12 (See WP:Donating Copyrighted Material). Thanks, — Oli OR Pyfan! 08:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vibhijain. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Hillside primary school lower early reading, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. But an another admin deleted the page under the same criteria. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 12:26, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Probably did not realise it was a school. Nobody is perfect. I make mistakes myself sometimes - but not very often :) It could have been tagged A1 because there was too little information to identify the school - no location, no country, no nothing. It would have been deleted anyway. --12:37, 16 October 2011 (UTC)Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk)

Hello, Your decision to revert me based on a dead link was incorrect. There are a couple of things that were wrong there: first, the link being dead doesn't make an article a hoax, it makes it unreferenced. Our first goal with an unref'd article is to reference it. A simple google search (such as this) shows many references. Rather than deleting the article, we'd add references, which I just did. Second, please be aware that you shouldn't revert an admin's decision to decline a speedy. There are other options available, but you should never simply revert. First, go to the admin's talk page. If that doesn't work, go to AN/I... but you can't just readd a speedy tag. That's the sort of thing that might end up badly, because it's edit warring. I'm sure you didn't do that on purpose - I think you probably just didn't know the rules.  :-) That's why I'm here, not to scold you, but to help you understand how to do this better. Thank you for your contributions so far. - Philippe 13:47, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to RFCs

Remember that RFCs are part of Dispute Resolution and at times may take place in a heated environment. Please take a look at the relevant RFC page before responding and be sure that you are willing and able to enter that environment and contribute to making the discussion a calm and productive one focussed on the content issue at hand. See also Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Suggestions for responding.

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Template talk:Infobox musical artist. Should you wish to respond to the invitation, your contribution to this discussion will be very much appreciated! However, please note that your input will carry no greater weight than anyone else's: remember that an RFC aims to reach a reasoned consensus position, and is not a vote. In support of that, your contribution should focus on thoughtful evaluation of the issues and available evidence, and provide further relevant evidence if possible.

Speedy deletion tag

I think this was a bit premature, and perhaps a bit bitey. You tagged Dublin International Piano Competition for speedy deletion as spam. The article consisted solely of a restatement of the title, and a link to the subject's website. I don't consider that overly promotional. It might qualify under no content, but I would wait to allow the user to flesh the article out before making such a call. This particular user has received nothing but bad news for what appears to be a good-faith effort to expand the encyclopedia's content regarding Chinese music and musicians. Speedy deletion tags such as this one will certainly discourage the user from continuing this effort. I say this from my own perspective of having been accused (sometimes rightly so) of being overly bitey in the past, so I have been trying to temper my new page patrolling with an eye toward helping new users as well as the encyclopedia. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:59, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's entirely up to you what you do. I can't help you on this because I commented on that RfA. All I can say again is, that AfDs should generally only be relisted when there is no clear consensus, and that it takes a very experienced user to be able to assess and close AfDs. Perhaps you should just stick to !voting on AfDs until you are more familiar with WP:NAC, WP:AfD, WP:IAR, and WP:CONSENSUS. I'll be quite happy to explain those policies for you if you find them heavy going. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:45, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-added a speedy tag to this as it is a G12. You had previously removed a G12 tag as "sorry but content is released under CC". However not all CC licenses are compitable with wikipedia (see Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright). When I looked further I found the terms of service of the website which state "You must not change, edit, or reword any part of any article not written by you." This means that their licence isn't compatible with wikipedia as we require a licence that allows content to be changed. Dpmuk (talk) 13:19, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Impact of corruption on indian economy

You removed the speedy tag saying "sorry but content is released under CC". Unfortunately there are several CC licenses not all of which are compatible with Wikipedia. The terms of service of the source site, www.preservearticles.com, say "You must not change, edit, or reword any part of any article not written by you." This is not compatible with Wikipedia's much broader CC-BY-SA license which does allow modification. JohnCD (talk) 14:48, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was excessively bitey. Clearly, this was a new editor who was trying to create a new page and was having some difficulty. A gentler approach would have been to address the editor on their talk page and offer help, and a suggestion that they could develop the page in their userspace. Instead, you tagged the article within two minutes of its creation with six different deletion criteria, including blatant vandalism. This is the kind of thing that drives new editors away from Wikipedia. Please try to be more gentle in the future. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:47, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I though that this might be biting, but if you see this, it tells that user is seeming to test. If it would not been a biographical article, i would had not tagged this article, however i am trying to be gentler (i know all my tries r getting failed). Thanks for the help. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 13:52, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, the editor was testing. New editors do that. You have been warned before that tagging articles like this right after their creation is inappropriate -- give the user time to work out the kinks. An article should only be deleted under WP:CSD#A2 if it has remained untouched for a while. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:55, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Wikipedia talk:Talk page guidelines.

You have received this notice because your name is on Wikipedia:Feedback request service. If you do not wish to receive these types of notices, please remove your name from that page. RFC bot (talk) 16:15, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article to work on... maybe?

This appeared at AfC - Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Kuni Mulgi Deta Ka Mulgi - I suspect that the subject might be notable, but Google News finds nothing at all, and a straight Google search mostly turns up Facebook pages, blogs, and places to download the songs (none of which are reliable sources). But possibly this is just because I don't know where to look for information on Indian cinema. If you can find maybe one or two more independent reliable sources, tidy up the article a bit, and add basic information like expected release date, it could probably just about manage notability and make a nice little movie-related stub. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 13:34, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an expert on Marathi cinema, but as per fb page, the film is releasing on December 2011. I will see if i can get some details from my marathi friends, or unless we can wait for some time so that the release date come near. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 15:09, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
