Information icon Hello, I'm Bonadea. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Submission software, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 10:03, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Information technology in India. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 11:59, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Wikishovel,
Thank you for your message and for pointing out the guidelines regarding external links on Wikipedia. I appreciate your diligence in maintaining the quality of Wikipedia content.
I understand that Wikipedia has strict policies about adding external links, especially to ensure that they are relevant and not promotional. However, I noticed that a similar type of link from Ethans.co.in was accepted as a reference under Reference 106 on the same page ("Information technology in India"). The reference is titled "Risks of Using Fake Experience Certificates in IT" and was retrieved on 7 June 2024.
Could you please clarify the criteria used to determine the appropriateness of external links? This would help us better understand the guidelines and ensure any contributions we make align with Wikipedia's standards. If the inclusion of the Ethans.co.in link is justified by the guidelines, we would appreciate understanding how similar content can be considered.
Thank you for your time and guidance. Wandex (talk) 08:09, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
