DYK for Warlander
[edit]On 27 August 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Warlander, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the modern Warlander, a new Baroque horse breed derived from the Andalusian and Friesian breeds, was inspired by a historic war horse cross that has been bred since at least the 16th century? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Warlander.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Nice!
[edit]Hey, you are making some nice edits around here with pretty solid content. However, before you go too much farther, I want to point you to WP:CITE for citation format and WP:V Whenever you can put things into a full, correct bibliographical citation, it's best. Also, if you can find the work online (even if an abstract or a google books excerpt) it's nice to add a URL so others can verify it. The goddess of citation at WPEQ (WikiProject Equine) is User:Ealdgyth, if you want to ask her questions, but you can also learn a lot by just "swiping" formatting stuff from our good and featured articles, such as Thoroughbred, which is our flagship article for quality (appeared on the Main page not long ago!) or quality smaller articles such as Suffolk Punch. Finally, be SUPER DUPER careful not to copy anything verbatim and don't even paraphrase too closely (!), they are really cracking down on copyright violations around here and if an eager-beaver editor slaps a copyvio tag on an article, it shuts the whole editing process down until it's resolved. (Which is a huge pain in the butt for several days or even a week or two!) But your edits reflect that you have some solid knowledge to offer and I'd sure like to help you "grow" as a wikipedian. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. I think I'm the oldtimer of the bunch around here, though others have developed more expertise than I in a number of areas and I can usually point you to the right person to answer any questions I cannot. Discussion tip
[edit]As a general rule, it's best to keep discussion about articles on the article talk page so that it's easier for all who care to weigh in. Montanabw(talk) 23:00, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
