[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Altered creatures has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddb6qvfwh5k&eurl=http://www.alteredcreatures.com/page.aspx&feature=player_embedded, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebs45psvs4u&eurl=http://www.alteredcreatures.com/page5.aspx&feature=player_embedded). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 03:50, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Altered creatures do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Proposed deletion of Altered creatures

[edit]

The article Altered creatures has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable book series. Fails Wikipedia:Notability (books), which says a book must have received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article. None of the books in this series have received significant coverage in reliable sources and the article should therefore be deleted.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Theleftorium 19:21, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fairly certain you're the author of the books being described in the new article Altered creatures. Unfortunately, our conflict of interests guidelines generally frown about writing about yourself or works you're heavily involved in. In addition, the article you've written about your works doesn't include any secondary sources. These include things like book reviews from independent sources or interviews in media, not your own website. I hope your books do well, but until they're written about in a reliable source, I don't think this encyclopedia is the right place for an article on your work.
