Questions
[edit]1. Why did you feel the need to create a new account for this purpose?
2. What other user account(s) do you have on WP?

- It helps me keep organized. This account is for helping dispute resolution, the other I use for making edits and creating articles.

[edit]Hi Wiki-Impartial! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Please note that the noticeboard is intended to assist in settling content disputes. Your recent edit [1] seems to imply that contributors' behaviour should be discussed there - which is exactly what shouldn't be occurring if content disputes are to be settled in an appropriate manner. User complaint: Username
[edit]- result
- Just letting you know that they did indeed report at WP:UAA. Their report was declined but was moved to the holding pen, where I again reviewed it and find it does not blatantly violate the username policy and therefore will not be blocked. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
DRN needs assistance
[edit]You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard.
We have a backlog of cases there which need volunteer attention. If you have time available, please take one or more of these cases.
If you do not intend to take cases or help with the administration of DRN on a regular basis, or if you do not wish to receive further notices of this nature, please remove your username from the volunteer list. If you later decide to resume activities at DRN you may relist your name at that time.

- @TransporterMan: Hope everything is well! Sorry I have been inactive for some time due to work and studies. I will get myself back into the flow of things and up to date with the policies then I can work on helping those users! Thanks for being a great editor. Usernames; a fine line
[edit]Hi Wiki-Impartial, I just wanted to make a note about your alt account. I noticed that you've been making changes on Olowe2011's userpage, but the first descriptor of this account is that it is "not used to interfere or become anyway involved with my other account and its affairs" (my emphasis added). I'm not particularly bothered since it's just updating the userpage, but someone could decide that it is an inappropriate use of the alt account system and force you to choose one or the other. Do try to be careful about which account you are logged into when you are making edits to Wikipedia. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 10:30, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Primefac: I find it great that you are trying to keep me informed about potential problems. However, the style of your comment is slightly dictorial (see WP:GND for my views on this issue.) Furthmore, regarding my edits here on my userpace please note that it's a completely personal space here on Wikipedia which doesn't involve the affairs that the account partakes in. I am not sure how it's even relevent to you what I do on my userspaces with alternate accounts however, it doesn't impede or effect the function of Wikipedia in anyway which is the main issue here and I wouldn't intend to use it in a way that would. Again, thanks for your suggestions - they are duely noted. --Wiki-Impartial (talk) 00:07, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not sure at what point I demanded that you do anything; I simply offered a helpful suggestion, mainly because I've seen people with alt accounts get them blocked/banned for smaller things. Inflection and tone of voice can't be interpreted over text, which is why AGF exists. If you can't even assume that I'm acting in good faith (which I was, by the way) then you're going to have some serious issues dealing with people here. Primefac (talk) 07:37, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Primefac: I am sorry that you have a problem with my opinion on your tone or style of text. As I said, I appreciate your suggestion. Thanks again :) Wiki-Impartial (talk) 13:03, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Help needed at DRN
[edit]You are receiving this message because you are signed up as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. We have a number of pending requests which need a volunteer to address them. Unless you are an inexperienced volunteer who is currently just watching DRN to learn our processes, please take a case. If you do not see yourself taking cases in the foreseeable future, please remove yourself from the volunteer list so that we can have a better idea of the size of our pool of volunteers; if you do see yourself taking cases, please watchlist the DRN page and keep an eye out to see if there are cases which are ready for a volunteer. We have recently had to refuse a number of cases because they were listed for days with no volunteer willing to take them, despite there being almost 150 volunteers listed on the volunteer page. DRN help needed and volunteer roll call
[edit]You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.
First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.
Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.
