Nomination for deletion of ACC templates
Hello! A few ACC templates have been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the templates' entry on the Templates for discussion page. This notice is because you are an ACC admin. Thanks! Avicennasis @ 04:33, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
ACC Account
Hi Willking1979, I notice you have ‘sysop’ status on Account Creation Tool users. I had the ‘account-creator’ status switched on last year, unfortunately I let it lapse by not using it for 45 days.
Is it possible to get this status reinstated? If so, how would I go about this? Thank you & Kind Regards :-) -- Marek.69 talk 22:57, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- I have gone ahead and restored your tool access. Tool admins can suspend and restore access to users. Make sure you are aware of the instructions in the guide to using the tool as it has been updated. Willking1979 (talk) 23:12, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks Willking, I'll make sure I familiarise myself with the new rules and instructions before I jump in. Thank you very much for your help! :-) Marek.69 talk 23:23, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Willking1979 use page layout
Your user page has many thoughful features; I have been viewing and jumping back and forth among the links from your page. My intent is to view your user page layout as a model and [by viewing links from your user page] to learn more about features of Wikipedia and about contributing. I began contributing to Wiktionary about 2 yrs ago. Now my interest has gravitated to Wikipedia. My method of learning proper entry of format codes, etc., involves looking at the coding via the "edit this page" feature of various articles to see how proper entry is done. This IP is registered to Clear Channel Communications. I think it should be blocked after the multitude of warnings the IP has gotten over the past year and a half. It is obvious warnings aren't helping. What do you think? - NeutralHomer • Talk • 21:19, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- So far, I've given one level 1 warning. I will actively watch the user...I usually do not block IPs until a vandal edit occurs after a level 4 warning within a 24-hour period, if there is a threat to others, blatant harassment, or if there is a clear pattern of sockpuppetry. Willking1979 (talk) 21:37, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think there is any sockpuppetry, but there is a clear COI with the user editing Clear Channel station articles. - NeutralHomer • Talk • 21:41, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 April newsletter
Round two is over, and we are down to our final 32. For anyone interested in the final standings (though not arranged by group) this page has been compiled. Congratulations to Hunter Kahn (submissions), our clear overall round winner, and to ThinkBlue (submissions) and Arsenikk (submissions), who were solidly second and third respectively. There were a good number of high scorers this round- competition was certainly tough! Round three begins tomorrow, but anything promoted after the end of round two is eligible for points. 16 contestants (eight pool leaders and eight wildcards) will progress to round four in two months- things are really starting to get competitive. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.
Judge iMatthew has retired from Wikipedia, and we wish him the best. The competition has been ticking over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. A special thank you goes to participants Stone (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) for their help in preparing for round three. Good luck everyone! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Need you to take a look at this
Hey, I need you to go trough a SPI. Its very important that you read through everything. From the beginning to the end. [2]
The Nefer Tweety account is exclusively used to do the exact same edits as Arab Cowboy, and so far no one has explained how its possible that the NT account contacted ACs sock. How this could have been a coincidence. Can you take a look at the evidence? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 01:01, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
- I've glanced through the evidence. Based on the evidence, it is inconclusive. Either they are socks to evade blocks, restrictions, etc., or it could be a simple coincidence that they have interest in the Asmahan article. Any admins watching this page, I would want your input on this. Willking1979 (talk) 01:40, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thank your for looking at it, well the "common interest" stretches over several articles, not only Asmahan, and its exclusively NT reverting to ACs edit. What I would like is a comment from you on the last part of the evidence, where I point out this edit. The fact that after exclusively using the NT account to back AC, the NT account then contacts ACs sock before it was revealed that AC controlled it and "asks" him to go to the article, what is the likelihood of that being a coincidence? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 00:27, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- I think there is a chance that NT could be AC. However, since Middle East-related articles are not my specialty, I am not very sure. Again, more input from admins and others are needed. Willking1979 (talk) 00:39, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Semi-protection
Would you take a look at the edit history on Enes Kanter? An IP is consistently changing the infobox to say that Kanter is 7 feet tall (every source I find says between 6'8" and 6'10") and adding an unsourced nickname ("the underKANTER", capitalization used by the IP) which I've never seen reference to. Another registered editor keeps adding the nickname "The Mini Muresan", which I've also not seen in any RS. I'd consider it unlikely as well because Gheorghe Mureşan, to whom the nickname probably alludes, was Romanian (Kanter is Turkish) and is almost a foot taller than Kanter. I'm thinking semi-protection might be appropriate here. What do you think? Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 16:24, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have gone ahead and semi-protected the article for 2 weeks for BLP violations and vandalism. Hopefully that will solve the problem. Let me know if you need anything else. Willking1979 (talk) 16:34, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Problematic user
Had a good laugh today? Check out this nuttiness: [3] [4] [5] [6]. I'm thinking we've got some sockpuppetry happening, in addition to someone who might be a couple of fries short of a Happy Meal. Do with this information as you will. :) Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 19:29, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- Believe it or not, one of the socks has requested an article about the "front." I have opened an SPI case here. Willking1979 (talk) 20:02, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed that. I figured I'd leave it on the requests page so someone else could get a laugh when they start looking into it. Thanks for starting the proceedings. I anticipate we may not have heard the last of this. POV check
Could you take a look at the sources cited in the relatively-new article on Ergun Caner? Apparently, there is some controversy about his claims of being an ex-Muslim, but some of the sources cited seem to fall short of WP:RS to me. Since I enjoy Dr. Caner's preaching, I fear I may be too close to the subject to judge objectively. Thanks. Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 14:03, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- Already aware of the media coverage and controversy surrounding Caner, I have gone through the article. The link and source selection seem to be balanced at this point. However, I will keep a very watchful eye for any POV edits. Willking1979 (talk) 14:27, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Enes Kanter, again
Thanks for your protection of Enes Kanter. I've succeeded in convincing one of the editors to add a source for the nickname he insists on adding. The problem is that it's a local radio show, which I doubt meets the criteria of WP:RS. (See latest edit) Am I mistaken in this? If not, which section of WP:RS do you think is most applicable here? Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 20:08, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- The ref should be accepted if the show is done by hosts who are experts in sports. In addition, the ref should have the specific call sign and city of license of the station as well as the official title of the show. You may want to read Wikipedia:RS#News_organizations. By the way, protection for the article expired earlier this week. I will continue to watch the article closely. Willking1979 (talk) 20:19, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Necrat
I took this to User:2over0 who was the AN3 admin on the WABC (AM) case, but he appears to be busy, so I bring this to you. After asking Necrat not to post on my talk page again (what I figure is the best way to get rid of any conflict with him), he does so anyway (and admits sockpuppetry, but that is neither here nor there). It wouldn't have been a big deal if he hadn't moments later posted this on this user page. Clearly this is about me, just not using my name and clearly shouldn't be allowed. I got in trouble for this as a newbie when I put a list of "Editors to Stay Away From" (or something like that) on my userpage. Got busted for it. This shouldn't be allowed and the only reason I bring this to your attention. - NeutralHomer • Talk • 21:23, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- Just issued a civility note to the user. The editor needs to realize civility is important here on Wikipedia. Willking1979 (talk) 21:39, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- Okie Dokie...hopefully that gets that pulled as that could be considered a personal attack by some. Thanks Dude...NeutralHomer • Talk • 21:45, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- No problem, buddy. I also hope Necrat can retract his statement. Have a great weekend, Willking1979 (talk) 21:51, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- A personal attack would be if I had actually used someone's name. Which I did not. It was a very generic editorial response on my own personal page of the matters which I have been dealing with in response to dealing with that homer guy. In fact, if he hadn't said anything, no one would've known it was about him, ironically.
- He may think it's about him but thats soley an assumption on his part. Thus not a personal attack nor any incivility. As with everything, there are two sides to every story and without getting into the details, I am at my wits end with "neutralhomer". I tried to be resonable with him, but it was impossible. He single handedly has ruined my experience with Wikipedia and as I said in my profile statement, I am done with it after today. I apologize for wasting your time. Have a nice day.Necrat (talk) 02:08, 22 May 2010 (UTC) NECRAT
- Necrat, I have struggled with posting that note on the talk page. I had mixed emotions about it. I would say right now let the Mediation Cabal do their job, work out your differences, and return to Wiki when this drama is over. Willking1979 (talk) 02:21, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Willking1979, if you look at the history of the user, you will see he has had several conflicts with other editors here. Apparently I am not the only one who's had troubles with this member. It might be time for the administrators to look into his conduct here, and take action as appropriate. It is not my place to do so, and in everything I have posted in trying to deal with the whole situation, I remained civil the whole time, by taking the appopriate steps (entering mediation and flagging for edit warring). as well as remaining polite when discussing the matter and bringing fourth any information to back the issues I had. The member clearly takes the "heavy handed" approach to editing and likes to throw around warnings like he's an administrator, as well as being as uncooperative with other editors as possible. Again I don't want to get in the middle of it, and I certanly don't want to get into a "pissing match" situation here, but this type of conduct, towards me, was offensive and really put me to my wits end. Maybe I will come back but only after I can be assured I can make factual edits removing unfactual ones without this type of nonsense. Thank you very much for your time and I appreciate you not only listening to me on this but discussing it with me as well. I really do appreciate it. Necrat (talk) 02:40, 22 May 2010 (UTC)NECRAT

Neutralhomer
I don't know what route to take with this, but I am again getting harrassed by user:neutralhomer. I posted a link to a photograph on my website (standard site, no advertising, I get no revenue, just a picture host) showing proof of evidence in an article. I disagree with his assertion that is it not a reliable source. How is a photograph evidence not reliable? He is now clearly following my every move on here, and based on other users talk pages, he's done/doing it to other users here as well who question his motives. [| here], [| here], and [| here]. The user "requests" that I do not post on his wall, but feels it is ok for himself to do so on my wall. I believe this qualifies as WP:Harrassment as well as WP:Hounding , based on what I stated, and the comments clearly posted on the other three walls. Does this need to be posted to WP:ANI for further review? What are the correct steps to take to get this overzealous member to back down? Necrat (talk) 17:17, 2 June 2010 (UTC)NECRAT
- Since I have interacted with Neutralhomer, I will recuse myself from this discussion. Talk page watchers, could an uninvolved admin look at this? Willking1979 (talk) 17:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Quote worth Requoting
I have noticed over time you have had some good quotes on the "Quote worth Requoting" section on your userpage. Might I suggest that you bunch all the quotes you have had in that section and put them on one page similar to my quotes page. Allows many people to see a number of interesting quotes and you could add a "Current Quote worth Requoting" at the top of that page. Just an idea. Couple Questions
Hey Will, hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Couple questions for you. Wehwalt surprised me by giving me Rollbackers, Autoreviewers and Reviewers access as a "Trusted user". I am completely surprised. I am just wondering, where do I go to learn how to use Autoreviewers and Reviewers? I have used Rollback before. Can you help? - NeutralHomer • Talk • 22:11, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- I would recommend that you read this page about the autoreviewer user right, which deals with patrolling new pages, and this page about reviewers, which approve pending changes during the trial, which begins this week. Enes Kanter, again
I know we've already done semi-protection on this article once, but this edit seems to indicate we may need it again. I've reverted this silly "Underkanter" nickname a couple of times in the last few days, each time added by an IP. Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 18:15, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Cameron
Cameron , are you sure those additions are correct at cameron? Our political history experts worked a fair while sortinh that out. Have you seen the mess the editor is presenting of the citations also? sheesh. Off2riorob (talk) 14:09, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- I assumed good faith and accepted the revisions. Hqb (talk · contribs) also accepted one of Righteditor (talk · contribs)'s revs. Feel free to remove them if you feel there are doubts about the additions. I do not follow British politics daily, therefore I would defer to experts. If my talk page watchers have an opinion about this feel free to comment. Willking1979 (talk) 14:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

What are your two favorite colors? - Neutralhomer • Talk • 02:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

- OK, I will tell you why I wanted to know about your favorite colors (which I tried to use to the best extent I could. I made you a new userpage. You can see the "almost" finished product here. You will notice my name on it, ignore that. That is part of the code. If the page looks slightly familiar, it is cause I used the code from User:Jennavecia's old userpage (she doesn't mind). You are probably wondering where some things are. Some of your information is in those drop down boxes to the right, so are your userboxes. I could only add one picture, so I picked the mountain shot, you can tinker with that. I didn't have room for your barnstars, so I did some formatting with those and can see what it will look like here. My idea was to put a link in the "More Stuff" field of your template. One other problem, I couldn't find a good place for your "status" template. I can try and tinker with it or you could use {{Statustop}} application and I could scoot it over a few ticks. You don't have to use any of these, just something I did cause I was insanely bored. I would recommend putting these on another page (which would be semi-protected just in case) and transcluded on your mainpage. Keeps things out of the way. :) Let me know if you like them and I can copy/past both of them onto seperate pages and you can protect them and tinker as needed (or I could). Take Care...Neutralhomer • Talk • 04:18, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- Looks great thus far. Can't wait until the final product. Great job!!! :) Willking1979 (talk) 10:16, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- That is the final product (just the one part uses BASEUSERNAME), just need to move it to your userspace with your permission and get it semi-protected. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 16:58, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- Go right ahead. Willking1979 (talk) 16:59, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I have added the code for the userpage at User:Willking1979/Content (which I transcluded to your userpage) and the code for the Barnstars section at User:Willking1979/Barnstars, which I added to your template menu under "More Stuff". Just need those two pages semi-protected for security and you probably should watchlist them as well. Let me know if you want anything tinkered with and I will see what I can do. :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 17:19, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- Pages watchlisted and semi-protected. Thanks for everything! :) Willking1979 (talk) 17:23, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Possible privacy concern
Check out the latest addition here. I would revert it, but I thought it may also need to be deleted from the page history as a privacy concern. If so, could you take care of that? Thanks. Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 20:08, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- I am not sure it meets the standards for RevDelete. I went ahead and reverted it per WP:NOTAFORUM. Willking1979 (talk) 20:58, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
