Mach61 19:54, 3 October 2024 (UTC)- Congrats on this, Wraeoliver! It's always nice to see more Lindy Hoppers represented on Wikipedia. If you'd like, you have the opportunity for the next 7 days to nominate a fun fact from Barnes' article to appear in the Main Page's "Did you know" section — this can be a great way to draw additional attention to it. - Hello Sdkb,
- I would like to contribute a fun fact for the "Did you know" section, once I learn how to do it! Is there a general suggested word count for these, other than the minimum number of characters?
- Thanks,
- Wendy Wroliver (talk) 22:11, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Wroliver/@Wraeoliver, the article on Barnes is currently 6431 characters, which is well above the 1,500-character minimum, so there's no problem with length. The reviewer will likely want you to address the issues identified in the orange tags at the top of the article, but they'll be able to help you with that (I think the unclear citation style one just refers to the fact that some of the refs have long quotes that aren't needed).
- The actual process of submitting a DYK nomination is pretty easy — just fill out the form linked here. For the fact itself, I'd recommend thinking about what's the most interesting or unusual fact in the article, rather than what's most important about Barnes — all we want is a short hook (less than 200 characters) to intrigue readers, who will then come to the article and be able to learn more about her.

- Thanks! That is helpful. Wroliver (talk) 13:48, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
